Nathan Horton, out for five games because of an upper-body injury, is practicing for the first time. Horton is in his usual spot with Milan Lucic and David Krejci.

Im doing good, Horton said after practice. Its nice to be back out there again. Ive been working hard. Im feeling good.

Was Redden scratched, or hurt?

edit: ok he's hurt, Questionable for game 6.

Any speculation?

OK, back to reality. I didn't hear a report on Seids as CBC didn't mention why he didn't play after the first shift; what is wrong with him?

Julien just mentioned in the post-game conference that Seids injury will be evaluated tomorrow and he does not know if it is short-term or long-term...

T&R saying that they've heard a broken foot for Andy Ference. He was seen after the game in a walking boot.

Looked to be muscular (hammy or groin?) to me.. Stretched out in an uncomfortable way on one foot by the boards..

Who is next on the depth chart after Krug?

Could they sign a free agent at this point?

Hyper-extended his knee. For him to not be able to put weight on it skating, it's gonna be bad. He's a tank.

Nope. Who we have in the organization is who we can dress now. After Krug there's almost nothing left. I believe Redden is able to go though, sounds like he could have for 7.

Assuming Seids and Ference are done though, just for the sake of argument. Redden is banged up at this point so if he goes down, it's Krug and then Garnet Exelby, I'd assume?

Ference was wearing a walking boot...that doesnt necessarily mean he's done for the playoffs.

Right. I'm just thinking worst case scenario out of curiosity

Also, the Redden acquisition looks huge now. He was sort of a side note on the deadline, but if they make a deep run and he plays, he becomes a more valuable pick up than Jagr by far.

I guess the best thing we got from game 7 was the exposer both Hamilton/Bart got from the win.

Going into the next round, these guys will be counted on again.....and they should play with more confidence.

Late in the 3rd period Dougie played the body well and skated to the red line numerous times without hesitation.

Chara Hamilton (Boychuck hasn't done well with Big z)
Bart Boychuck
Redden McQuaid

Bartkowski looked extremely comfortable carrying the puck as well. His defensive coverage needs to improve, but his anxiety seems to have completely vanished. I was really impressed by him last night.

Gives me confidence in them as far as possibly moving on from Ference for cap reasons after the season if he won't take a 50% pay cut.

There was a point in the 2nd period where he got the puck behind the net (with traffic) and carried it to the blueline and then stopped to wait for his forwards to open up. That alone showed me this kid was playing with confidence.

After that...I wasnt nervous anytime he was on the ice.

Bartkowski plays with extreme confidence, that's something I noticed all year with him. Still, not necessarily always a good thing. He's prone to turnovers when he's like that.

Just putting this question in here... I heard that Jagr went down the tunnel in OT and that was partly why Seguin rejoined his regular linemates. Was there an injury with Jagr or some other minor issue?

I heard that on 98.5 as well.. I think Wallach(sp?) said it and T&R ignored him per usual..
