This is not the first time I hear of people comparing the two. It would be great if Concacher turned out as well as Gallagher appears to be turning out.

Can't say much about Conacher because I've not seen him alot but what I can say abot Gallagher is that he's already a game changer at his first year in the NHL, his work ethic is incomparable, he's producing, he goes in those dirty areas and he's 3 years younger than Conacher. On a line with Pacioretty and Desharnais, he's the guy that ignites and even carries the line most of the time. A good comparison to him would be Thorin from the Hobbit. I might be biased but I think from bold predictions at this moment, Gallagher is better now and will also be better later.

I won't vote as Tampa's a team I haven't watched much this year, so I really can't compare them atm. Really like Gallagher though.

Both are great but I'll stick with Gally. Simply phenomenal for the Habs this season, carries our first line more than the other 2 (Pac/DD).

I think age doesn't matter because Conacher is a player out of college. His first pro year was last year. And he's currently playing his second pro year.

Gallagher is playing in his first pro year and he looks great.

Both are diminutive speedy players. They are feisty and play well above their actual sizes. They both have really good hands.

Conacher dominated the AHL as a rookie and look like he will do some damage in the NHL. In the AHL, he was one of the most hated players or most hard to play against because of his relentness of his agressive forecheck and his feistiness. He got some Brad Marchand to his game with elusive playmaking skills.

I think Cory Conacher has the offensive edge and Gallagher the defensive edge. Because, Conacher has defensive deficiencies and Gallagher is already a strong two-way player.

I agree with you on the age difference not making a big difference but Gally is still 3 years younger so I wanted to point it out. I tend to differ on the offensive/defensive edge thing tho. Gallagher while being a strong 2 way player, he's a nightmare for the other team in the O-zone, always grinding the boards and buzzing around the net.

LOL same about Conacher. Conacher is really strong on the boards while being 5'8. He has no fear, crashing the net, going against crease clearing defensemen like Chara, obstructing the opposite goalie view. I'm not saying he's a dirty player but he's gritty, and has quite of an edge. I would say a Brad Marchand edge.

Conacher is a really good tipper. I guess he got advice from an other one, Martin St-Louis.

Exactly. It's pretty much how a 5'8'' player will dominate in the NHL.

In term of creating chaos around the opposition net, Conacher is no Gallagher. That's all I have to say.

Maybe conacher has better offensive instincts but even as a sens fan I gotta give it to gallagher this guy is like a small ball of energy, can re-energize a team and he is feisty too. Both will be good tho but its pretty close, the edge goes to gallagher

sounds perfect for a guy who likes to shoot and has a pretty crazy shot, i.e. silfverberg/zibanejad

I really like Conacher, and he plays bigger than his size, but not not as gritty, edge as Gallagher, and his nose for the net is just unbelievable.

Its amazes me that he just stays in the cease like it belongs to him. I'm surprised a goalie hasn't jumped him yet, because its going to happen one day.
