Why is Matt Cooke so interested in Don Brennan's package?

http://www.ottawasun.com/2013/04/22/...ennans-package

Quote:
On the way out, I found Cooke waiting to have a word in private with me.

At first I think he said "small balls." But by the time he had finished, and knew Penguins GM Ray Shero was listening, he had decided I had none. Oh, and I believe he also mumbled something about me having no penis before disappearing into the players-only room, which I found interesting.

I will not take this opportunity to, ahem, brag about my manhood.

My best guess is he was mad I pointed out in Monday's column he has averaged less than two fights per season in his NHL career, which isn't many for a guy that plays on the edge that he does.
At least we have top notch journalists in Ottawa

The Ottawa Sun just ran a column where a guy talks about his penis.

Constantly amazing that in this era of failing print journalism, this guy has a job.

LOL, I just posted about this in another thread.

Talks about balls for about half of the column. Finishes with "He should grow a set of his own before worrying about mine."

Journalism at it's best.

Why is this being published?

This is something you tell to your friends over a beer, sure. But how many people in Ottawa really care about Don Brennan's relationship with Matt Cooke? I don't give a ****.

This is stupid.

And this is why other teams point and laugh at us...

Because we hire idiots like this to write for our city newspaper.

If anyone is reading this, I just would like to point out that he is a die-hard Bruins fan. Sorry Boston.

Which, in itself, also doesn't reflect that well on us.

Don Brennan is an idiot. But whining is Pittsburgh's specialty. Doesn't shock me Cooke went after a reporter.

It sometimes boggles my mind how one city was SO lucky to get Garrioch and Brennan as print (and television) journalists, and the amazing incredulous () Jungle Jim on TGOR for so long.

This is why I will cherish Dean Brown and Ian Mendes (and Uncle Denis) for all eternity.

I'm not at all surprised that Brennan and Garrioch still have jobs.

The kind of people who still read newspapers like the Sun are the same demographic who will enjoy a post-game article that discusses the reporter's balls.

It's also the same demographic that probably doesn't use computers a whole lot and still rely on newspapers as their go-to news source.

Man, what's it like being Cooke if he gets upset about what beat reporters say about him? I mean the guy has one of the worst reputations in all of hockey, everyone takes shots at him in every city he goes and the internet writers certainly don't give him any love... and he cares enough to accost a nobody no-account nothing like Brennan? Sheesh.

Were you expecting professionalism from a Sun writer?

Considering the article, how can you,be sure that Cooke actually did that to Brennan? Any credibility tha he may have had is completely out of the window. It wouldn't shock me if this never happened

Don Brennan must be doing something right, because he's held onto the Sens writing job for this long. Not sure why he appeals to the Senators fanbase, but here he is year after year, writing gems like this:

Has Brian Samuel been tarred and feathered and run out of town yet? What a maroon.

Brennan doesn't appeal to us, but he and Garrioch alternate pom-pom waving for the team and taking shots at Russian/Eurpean players and raise controversy, which sells papers. They are horrid.

If only Cooke was as willing to stand for himself on the ice as he is off the ice...

As for Brennan, who the **** cares? Erase this idiot from your memory.
