I dont think the habs chances will end up being 1 in 30

I think the non playoff teams will be given much better odds than the playoff teams in regards to winning the #1 pick. That's assuming that the playoffs teams will get a chance at all.

Yeah i know what you mean the playoff teams will have less chance of getting Crosby, but my comment was more in a light-hearted mood, There are 30 teams in the NHL only 1 can get Sidney... do you catch my drift i'm sure you do your an intelligent chap.

He would lose a lot of respect if he pulled something like that off.

Who cares ... as long as he is Hab, I could care less if you Bruins/Leafs fans liked him. If he became a Hab by normal means, you would still hate him and ridicule him.

So what's the difference?

How is what Lindros did and what Crosby could do potentially (although unlikely) is any different than what Patrick Roy pulled in 1995. The way he exited the Habs, all that drama, etc ... Did you lose respect for him or made fun of the Habs ?

he sure would but to be honest if he came to the Habs i don't think i'd care!!! I think it would piss players of more as it is basically shunning the whole process of entry into the Professional world of North American Hockey. Other teams fans would be pissed as they would say "well so-and-so is a Whatever Fan and when he was drafted he never acted like a spoilt brat and demanded this and that". I can remember that the Flyers gave up alot for Lindros, and as a Hab fan i'm sure for a prospect like Crosby we too would have to give up alot aswell. Even for Crosby i'm not too sure if i'd like to see all our depth in our prospect pool just disappear like that. Then again that is my own personal opinion.

I like the way you've put this actually AH, very interesting and absolutely correct. Some people may say though Roy had done his time in montreal and its not like he given it a shot. Nevertheless though he did kick up a fuss and demand something when he was under contract.

honeslty though i don't think Crosby would do something like this. I don't know him presonally, never met the guy, don't what his voice if like, the color of his hair, the boys favorite food, last time he had a shower - i'm guessing this morning, and i've seen barely enough photos of him to feel three pages of a book and don't know what size shoes he wears... So before anybody comes back him and replies to my post in the following manner "AND HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT SIDNEY THINKS AND ACTS LIKE", i shall say this.... I DON'T!!!!! but my point is my own opinion.....

Roy played for the Habs, and he wasn't getting any help when he was shelled. You don't leave a goalie in nets when he gives up that many goals.

I wouldn't hate him if the Habs landed him in the draft. That's what I hate about people here. They put words into my mouth, which aren't true. Sure, you can act cool about it, but you don't know that.

I don't have a lot of respect for people who are drafted by a team, and request a trade right away. You should atleast give the team a chance.

Oh, in 1995, I was 6 years old, turning on 7. I barely knew players names back them. Nice try though.

In a Van Sun article Crosby has a say in where he will play in the case he will be picked by a team like Carolina or Nashville. His agent said he wont play for any team, and he will ask to be traded to Montreal or his 2nd choice Toronto.

So that makes it ok to act like a baby? How about you have some respect for the fans and show some class by doing it quietly behind closed doors.

IMO i wouldn't want to give up the follwoing players. Theo, Koivu, Zeds, Souray, markov, Komi, Ribs, Bonk, Ryder. however the team that drafted him are gonna want players of this calibre bacn in return. I also know that i'm not in favour of letting him land in TML Land... so this merits the question what would we give up????

Replace Souray by Markov, and Perez by Higgins and I'd do that in a second

I'm assuming your giving up Souray because of his injuries...???? If thats the case i can see why you do it and place him in the draft. As for Perezhogin i think i'd rather give up Kastistyn..... dont' know if the drafting team would take him though.

I'd rather keep Markov also but I the team that has Crosby would want him instead of Souray because he's younger and has a higher ceilling.
