Yeah, they were pretty good about it in the beginning of the year. Now, they're beginning to let them slide again.

I'm starting to get a little concerned about this. Hawks can still win games when the officials put the whistles away, but it gets really difficult.

It seems the refs are ignoring so many calls for the Hawks. Otherwise the opposition would get dominated even more than they are every game.

Sok. The refs are just priming the boys for non calls come playoff time.

The only thing they seem to be calling are delay of game and high sticking penalties. It is like the 90's out there again.

Eventually, the NHL will learn that PP opportunities increase scoring (shocking) and they'll start holding refs accountable for not calling the game the way it's supposed to be called. Until then, the slower teams will always have a chance against teams like the Hawks because picks, blatant interference and holding is allowed.

its horrible to watch, blatant hooks/holds/interference go uncalled then they'll call weak slashes

Floyd Rayweather Emery got hung out to dry a couple times with some turnovers in his own zone but still came through. I don't know if it's too early, but maybe it's time to compare him with the great Hawk netminders like Tony Esposito and Ed Belfour.

IMO it's like the "skill is being sucked out of the game" thread on the main boards. Guys with speed can barely use it because they're going to be held up by the opposing defensemen. Guys like Kane and Datsyuk can consistently beat defenders, only for them to get held onto.

Ray Emery's better than Esposito and Belfour. It's not fair to compare them to Emery.

Pretty much all of this.

It's actually good for us that Bowman really secured that third pairing and Q seems to be making sure ice time goes to the forwards who are hard as **** to play against because regardless of the top end skill this team has the league has made it so we'll have to out-grind teams in the end rather than outplay them.

Absolutely, but ESPN Chicago had a column that mentioned Q could platoon the goalies for the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Had Crawford played in this game and put up the same numbers, let in the same goals... people would be all over him. But that's this board, I suppose.

Breaking: Jonathan Toews becomes only player in league who isn't even a PPG guy to have 97 points in last 97 games.

Analysis from main board, other news at 11.

That game was infuriating at times, but the end result was all that mattered. Saad is unreal, and the 4th line was clicking.

Does anyone know when playoff tickets will go on sale?

Sure, but the guy comparing Ray Emery to two of the most decorated goaltenders in our franchises history...

Emery isn't even Jeff Hackett yet.

Lol, don't waste your time expecting even the most basic reasoning to fly on the main boards. Where David Krejci has approximately equal value to Patrick Kane, Kovalchuk is a great defensive player, etc. etc...

Is that from the movie Thor? It's on Netflix. I'm waiting to be in the mood for a popcorn flick with the girlfriend to watch it. I've heard mixed things.
