EA are not even close to being the worst company in USA. They are however the worst gaming company in the world, and they effect the entire world, like me here in Sweden. They deserved this so much.

They lie to us and they destroy the video game franchises we love. Lets hope they learn something from this. (Yeah, they wont, i know)

Yeah, I could get behind worst video game company. I'm sure Activision might have something to say but they haven't hurt as many franchises as EA has.

This annoys me greatly. These types of things should shed light on truly predatory companies. This is just a bunch of disgruntled gamers who use the internet more than other people. Seriously? EA is a worse company than BoA? In what ****ing universe?

While I agree with you I think the fact that the internet voted poorly shouldn't distract from the fact that EA is a poorly run company.

BoA should have won it the last 2 years. EA does suck, but not nearly as bad as BoA.

While it seems rather stupid to give this award to something as frivilous as a video game publisher over institutions that have the power to do far more evil... that is kind of a good point.

When you look at banking or oil companies, you basically get to choose from EA, Activision, or maybe if you're lucky Ubisoft. In these industries there aren't any Valve's or my underdog favourite Stardock to counterbalance how it could be done.

Doesn't necessarily mean they deserve the award, but it would be pretty hard to find an industry that has a big a spread that Valve -> EA has.

What the consumerist needs here is a form of 'power rankings' so they can make their own educated decision for the award, and run it alongside the 'peoples choice' award which goes by the open vote.

A lot of people that had their lives ruined did it to themselves. So EA is a worse company, overall.

I'm not gonna even touch the logic on that one.

I doubt an oil company is going to get much notoriety in this sort of thing, unless you live in Louisiana.

I strongly disagree with the idea that there aren't banks that do it right. At least here we have plenty of credit unions and things like that, there are many alternatives. Why people continue to keep banking with notoriously terrible companies is beyond me.

Personally, I'm amazed Wal Mart isn't ranked more highly in these things, if we're talking about companies that are bad for America they should be right up there.

I think Activision is nearly as bad as EA. Between the ridiculous amount of CoD's they release (and the way they treated the two guys who made them rich) and Blizzard's atrocious blunders with Diablo III, there's something there. I guess they just aren't as big as EA.

At least Activision/Blizzard has better support than EA

Ever try calling for support on SWTOR?

EA affects more people with their stupidity. That's why more people vote for them.

The new Madden was pretty great, I thought. Other than the lack of inclusion of NCAA draft classes.

1. Walmart was in the running's. They got outvoted against bank of america in the bracket (brackets at bottom of page):
http://consumerist.com/2013/04/04/me...ny-in-america/

2. Activision did a piss-poor job on Diablo 3 and their COD stuff is ridiculous, but I must say they had a fantastic Starcraft: HoTS launch, I really enjoyed that being one big community of Starcraft day and tournaments and live streams for 24 hours straight all around the world.

Activision has zero to do with any of Blizzard games. I can't find the link but yeah, nothing.

Well they own Blizzard... so at some level they are approving everything.

At any rate, Blizzard messed up Diablo... made it up a tad on HoTS (to me at least).

Nope.

Rift is more refined and has more content in a much less period of time.
