now we get to see if the admirals can actually protect a third period 2 goal lead, something they've been horrible at the last quarter of the season

strange..the webcast feed is more than twominutes behind real time...can check ahl.com boxscore and see what happened long time before we see it..for example..suter just took a penalty...he will take another as soon as he comes out of the box at the 3:32 mark

Admirals are finishing their checks better than I have seen them in a long time.

you can tell it's the playoffs...normally the ahl refs swallow their whistles in the third....in the regular season the 3rd period has less than half the penalties called as the other two in the ahl

ugly ending to that one,but a big win for the Admirals...the Admiral pp is still the key to beating this team....third time this years Admirals have scored 3 pp goals against them

oh..and thank god for Gamache...Haydar had a great game,as did Suter..and Finley was solid...and the pk was good, after they were beat badly on that first one

Thought Shishkanov,Upshall,Klein and Hamhuis played well too..(man did you see that guy beat Hamhuis one on one there?.thank god finley bailed him out)

I cann't help it,i'm just not impressed with Pivko...he's a good skater, great speed,a solid penalty killer and a good defender....but offensively,he's out of the flow of the game totally..and all the dives drive me nuts

Hamhuis-3rd star
Haydar-2nd star
Gamache-1st star

i believe i'd have given the third to Suter...Hamhuis a good controlled game, good game at the point on the pp,but with no shots tonight(and he did get beat badly one on one once),Suter with a goal and an assist and 3 shots...only those two back to back penalties from Suter late would even make me think about this

that's why they're hockey media and you are not ... those back to back penalties were stupid

wait just a second there strummer..the first of those two was basically to prevent a breakaway and wasn't what anyone with hockey sense would classify as a 'stupid' penalty at all,as they were all over finley after a turnover on the pp...

the second was definitely a ticky tac call as soon as he came out of the box but of course since it was called, it can be considered as a 'stupid' penalty i'll agree...

but on top of that suter officially scored the 'gamewinning goal' and drew the 5 minute major to ice the game

a simple 'i disagree' would have been sufficient...

I think the whole thing is rather amusing, as I agree with pred303s take, myself

Noel obviously wasn't too upset with Suter at the end of the game, as he sent him back out on the PP within secconds of having his eyebrow gash was butterflied closed from the high stick penalty that he drew putting the game on ice.

If the penalties had resulted in goals, I would be upset. But from the sounds of it, they weren't your typical boneheaded penalties. Rough, mean Dmen are going to get penalties.

but right when you get out of the penalty box? ... that to me has always been a "stupid penalty" ... I don't care if you're the best dman on the team or 2nd best for that matter ... you don't take back to back penalties with that much time left in the game.
