Wacky Predictions

Sorry if its already been done, but what are some of your wacky predictions for this season? Teams, players, fans, have some fun with it. I'll post mine:

Rick Nash and Marian Gaborik don't mesh, NYR bow out in the 1st round of the playoffs

Sergei Bobrovsky on 30th ranked Columbus will post better numbers than Ilya Bryzgalov, who will be bought out in the off-season after the Flyers acquire Roberto Luongo for a package that includes Daniel Briere

Zach Parise will struggle mightily in Minnesota to put up points, and Ryan Suter will not be the Suter we've come to know in Nashville, and will struggle without a partner of Weber's calibre, as the Wild miss the playoffs

1st suspension for a dirty hit this year will be Alexei Emelin for throwing a vicious hip check that everyone would have loved 15 years ago

Tim Thomas will attempt to come back sometime around the playoffs, and some team will be stupid enough to trade for him

Wade Redden will play a big role in the Blues' 1st place season, and Scott Gomez will have a resurgance wherever he winds up playing

Jake Gardiner will not be the second coming of Bobby Orr sorry leaf fans, I had to take one tiny little shot, I know you guys love him like all fans love their own players

Last but not least, homer pick for my Avs, Gabriel Landeskog will finish second in the league in goals behind Steven Stamkos

Bryz being bought out is the most unlikely.

Which says alot when there is one which involves someone trading for Tim Thomas during the playoffs, which is after the deadline.

Devils sign Gomez, he hits 30 points playing with Elias this season.

If Nash and Gaborik don't mesh, that's hardly the end of the world for the Rangers.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Torts splits up Nash and Gaborik to spread out the offensive threat those two bring.

Yakupov & Shultz flop in their first season with the Oilers and rookie of the year goes to... Sven Baertschi.

(I have Yak, Baertschi and Tarasenko in my pool, I hope one of them produces)

Calgary finishes ahead of Vancouver and Edmonton

Nabokov gets more wins than Lundqvist

Jagr gets more pts than Giroux

Both Phaneuf and Kessel get traded

Heatley scores 40

Yeah pretty much this. Torts like to have balanced teams. It's gonna be Richards-Nash and then Stepan-Gaborik. Nash and Gabby will most likely only be on the ice together when it's a pp for rangers.

Okay wacky predictions...

-Redden will do real good with Blues.
-Gomez will score at least 2 goals.
- suter will prove that he can't produce at the same level without weber.
- tarashenko won't be top 3 in the calder race. Limited ice time on a strong 2 way team is the reasoning behind that.
-Rask will start out really shaky but will get better at the end of the season.
- Carolina will miss the playoffs or get beaten in the 1st round
-vokoun will overtake fleurys status as the #1.
- karlsson won't be nearly as dominant offensive.
- Richards and Nash end up top 10-15 in scoring

Oilers finish first in the west.
Eberle becomes a top 5 scorer in the NHL.
Ovechkin continues his decline, Oates is fired.
Stamkos scores 40 goals in 48 games.
Vancouver misses the playoffs.
The Wild finish second in the west.
The Flyers finish eighth in the east.
John Tavares finishes 3rd in scoring behind Malkin and Crosby.
Tarasenko is an abysmal failure, Yakupov has a decent rookie season. Neither are Calder finalists.

Calgary comes in last place and loses the draft lottery then trades Iginla to the Oilers for Horcoff and a 2nd round pick in 2017. The Sedins get injured and call it a career. The Oilers win the Stanley Cup in 4 games.

Didn't he start off something like 25 goals in his first 25 games last year? If he doesn't need anytime getting re-acclimated with the NHL 40 isn't out of the reach.

Cory Conacher wins Calder due awesome chemistry between him and Lecavalier.

Detroit wins the Presidents Trophy.

Henrik & Daniel Sedin both will regress and Canucks finishes 6th in the West, only to be eliminated in the first round.

Zetterberg wins the Selke.

Rask wins Vezina.

Stamkos makes 48 goals in 47 games, misses one game because of flu.

Kovalev is the best player in Florida.

Scott Laughton scores at a point per game pace in his first five games and sticks all year
Rinaldo has 300 penalty minutes in just 30 games.
Crosby has an off year only getting around 60 points
Malkin leads the league in points again
Florida goes deep into the playoffs
Taresenko wins Calder
Granlund has a miserable debut campaign and is scratched several times.

-Minnesota finishes 1st in the West; Suter and Parise play well, but the real surprises and Granlund and Dumba, who are both Calder finalists

-the top 5 Calder hopefuls all come from the NW

-Toronto makes the playoffs in the 8th seed

-Crosby finishes with 75 points

-Luongo is traded to a team that nobody thought was interested

-Markov plays all 48 games

-Bryzgalov rebounds enough to avoid the buyout
