Good point.

I'm still on for my SNOG if the Sharks hold em, and score three.

never expected an arena in the US to not only play The Trews, but play one of their newer/less well known songs (I have heard a few US arenas play Not Ready to Go and Poor Ol Broken Hearted Me)

Sweet. Good to hear some exposure for a good Canadian band.

EDIT: Not that I expect anyone will care, but they played "The Power of Positive Drinking", which is just about the best song name ever. And a good anthem for the Sharks the way the mood is around here sometimes.

Typical Sharks road period. Few if any scoring chances.

Well, then they'll get good value on some good Canadian music compared to the crap that's popular in the US.

Your move.

I hated Brodie at first, but he grew on me. Seems like a guy I'd like to have a beer or play poker with.

I guess Columbus just has our number :/

Let me take back what I said about that blonde.... far too much plastic surgery on the nose for my taste. Now the woman in the Crew Gear Store ad....

I wonder what they are saying in the Blue Jackets GDT?

The Sharks historically have a terrible record in Columbus.

Even thogh its like 150 miles away, the Sharks get possesed by the fate of Cleveland sports when playing the Jackets.

I just always seem to find Canadians trying to pimp their version of rock so hard around these boards and in NHL news. Hell, even Jumbo and other Sharks are always trying to sell The Tragically Hip as "the best band ever." It's like you're all the used car salesmen of music. Not all of you of course (but yes, you).

I think it's that weird conflicting identity issue whereby we like to think ourselves better than the US, but at the same time will clap and squeal like giddy schoolgirls at the thought that something of "ours" getting recognition outside of our borders. The unholy trinity of Celine Dion, Nickelback, and Justin Bieber notwithstanding.

and personally I'm not a fan of the Tragically Hip. I think they're horribly overrated. Not sure what you'd call "our version of rock". It seems similar in terms of scope and range of sounds as the US. I just happen to like The Trews a lot, acknowledging that they're a little on the lighter side of the spectrum and they get accused of being one of those dreaded mainstream sellout bands that gets too much radio play to actually be any good.
