not really hoping for a certain matchup. just against ducks vs wild unless its wcf since i put money on both of them to win the cup.

i am hoping for la vs sjs or la vs stl however

I think the overall idea is.

ANY team you play in the playoffs is going to be tough, considering their the top 8 in the conference.

We don't get lucky like the east and get to have a 9th place team (in points) have 3rd seed.

Chicago, Anaheim, Vancouver, LA will be top 4.

5/6 is SJ or Minn (1 point difference)
7/8 will be St Louis and Detroit/Phoenix. Columbus is long shot.

All 8 teams in West are strong teams, there will be no easy series for anyone. Its just guessing essentially to see who would win.

(advanced stats)

Finally i got over myself and checked out the fenwick for last seasons playoffs.

Turns out, the Fenwick leaderboard were:

1. Chicago (2 wins - off in 1st round)
2. Pitsburgh (2 wins - off in 1st round)
3. Detroit (1 win - off in 1st round)
4. New Jersey (14 wins - off in finals)
5. Boston (3 wins - off in 1st round)
6. Los Angeles (16 wins - won)
7. Ottawa (3 wins - off in 1st round)

Am i seeing a trend here?

That Fenwick won't tell you who will win a playoff series?

Rather than just sneaking in at the bottom as has been our recent custom we will be coming in this time as a top team. That turns everything around. No longer can we see ourselves as the underdog nobody wants to face. We are now the top dog, worried about that underdog.

I'd prefer Detroit in the first round. But what I really want is a Ducks/Kings conference finals. That could make the SCF anticlimactic.

I want nothing to do with St. Louis. Other than that I'm not overly worried - I think we match up best against Minnesota and Detroit though.

This X100. St. Louis was my preseason pick for the Cup, and if it weren't for questionable goaltending, they still would be. Minny is who I would want to play, barring some miracle where EDM or DAL get in.

It is almost like advanced stats are circumstantial and actual prove nothing.

So ducks fenwick is so bad they are going to get upset in first round...

Yet 5 of the 6 top fenwick teams, got taken out in the first round.

I'd be willing to take Minnesota/San Jose. Don't really want Detroit, they usually have a lot in the tank early, would be nice if Chicago or another team wore them down.

3. If we win it doesnt matter cause no duck fan actually really understands hockey.
4. If by chance the ducks win the cup then everyone is going to discredit it because its only 48 game season... but god noes if another team wins itll be like a normal cup victory.
5. The refs are going to screw the other team for sure if we win(even when they end up having a 4-1 powerplay advantage)
6. If we win its okay cause well go back to our sucking ways because its not a contract year anymore.

i think i covered the jists

oh almost forgot
7. BB is not a good coach, and is def not a playoff coach and just got lucky like the rest of the ducks roster.
This. maysil pack it in. we aren't winners.

Yes, I think it will be Shea Weber like! He will probably need a lawn mover or similar to "shave" it off later on! Reminds me when they had mustache month or something like that and some of the older players mentioned how they made fun of Fowler et al .

Haha, since he`s so short, it could be all the way down to the ice, if we would reach finals game 7 (advanced beard)

Fowler had some kind of beard at some points. It should be visible if he grows one in playoffs.

Apparently, Boner don`t have one (do Boners even have beards?) acording to Cam and Kyle in that interview

Yup. Without the Niedermayers we're lacking some serious beardability
