Vydarney sent down...

It looks like Vydarney is about 14th on the depth chart. I'm sticking by what I said in an ealier thread...I don't see Vydarney making the NHL any time soon if at all. Why is everyone so high on him??

1-Jovanovski
2-Ohlund
3-Salo
4-Sopel
5-Malik
6-Slegr
7-Allen
8-Baumgartner
9-Eakins
10-Jokela
11-Mojzis
12-Koltsov
13-Obsut
14-Vydarney

Mojzis, imo, is hovering around #8. Grenier should also be on there, I think he'd get a callup before someone like Obsut.

For Mojzis it depends on what the ranking criteria are. If your ranking based on potential then I agree (I might even rank him higher than eighth). If your ranking based on impact on the Big club (aka chances of getting called up) then I think he stays at around 11th.
On Obsut, I agree with you. I was just trying to fillout the list...so stick Grenier in his Obsut's spot..it still means Vydarney is no higher than 14th and probably lower.

You really think that Jokela or Mojzis are going to get called up before Baumgartner?? Maybe for 1 or 2 games but if there is a longer term injury replacement then it will definitely be Baumgartner being called up. Other than that I don't have any complaints about your rankings.

I think Smyl made a good analysis of Vydarney when he said he skates so quickly he skates himself into problems. He just runs himself out of ice or into crowds. IMO he remains a project. Like many young defensemen he needs to continue to apprentice at the AHL level. At 22 still has a future.

Others like Neilsen, who were sent down, have effectively had their chances of an NHL career pretty much stuffed out. They reaching an age where their window of opportunity is closing.
