1-0 Hamilton through. Thank God for Amerks fans that Miller is standing on his head, because according to the Hamilton commentators, Rochester is playing like swiss cheese.

One more for the good guys...my boy Paul puts it home. Vanek notches an assist...go figure. And Miller's coming up huge. He hasn't played well as of late, but it sounds as if he's back. Good. We go as far as Miller takes us.

Goal Gaustad, great pass by Vanek, making up for the 3 giveaways on the PP.

2-1, 6 minutes to play.

Make that 2 for Paul. Sweet.

Watch for Hamilton to try to to goon it up and head hunt Vanek. Time to see McMorrow play a lot of hockey.

Kevin O on some of the "extra-curricular" activities:

Quote:
Stay calm: The Bulldogs did their best to rattle the Amerks, not just with the body, but with a little stickwork as well as in scrums after the whistle.

Agitating forward Steve Ott, a reincarnation of former Philadelphia Flyers super pest Ken Linseman, was in the face of anyone and everyone wearing the Amerk sweater.

"That's his role, that's his job," Cunneyworth said. "Obviously he's a guy that wants to stir it up."

The Amerks, for the most part, managed to avoid retaliation then got revenge in the third period. Thomas Vanek moved the puck past Ott at center on the rush that led to the tying goal.

Then five seconds after Ott's needless roughing penalty expired — he bowled over Vanek when the Amerk winger was already on his knees and without the puck — Paul Gaustad scored the winning goal.

Dirty hit: The Amerks weren't happy when Bulldogs defenseman Mike Komisarek, who is 6-foot-4, 237-pounds, left his feet and used his forearm to blast center Jiri Novotny in the head along the boards.

Referee Chris Ciamaga assessed a charging minor. Considering Novotny was playing just his second game since a concussion forced him to miss nine games, there was some belief the hit was intentional.

"When you see a guy as big as Komisarek jumping, you hope for the call," Cunneyworth said. "Those are dangerous hits."

Short notice? Come on, it's the playoffs. The best team in North America is playing in the only professional playoffs in the continent and under 4,000 went? Imagine how much Donner could have made if it would have been in Buffalo.

I have a feeling this one will be old-school, "Adams Division Semi-Final" style, 1980's hockey if one team gets up by more than two goals early.

You guys should thank me and MLH know why.

(just kidding)

It's just the beginning guys , we gonna need the sacred pretzel!

Seriously , we played well , MILLER WAS SOOOOOLID!! In the first two periods , we played quite well , our team is very undisciplined because we've alot of enforcers like Steve Ott (ARGH!) , Steve Begin , Raitis Ivanans etc....So , penalties cost us the GAME!!!!!!

See ya friday guys.

Stupid Steve Ott.. thanks a LOT Dallas.. seriously though, Miller is the key to this series.. if Hamilton can't solve him, we go golfing.
