This thread seems to forget the Sabres are gunning to win, if Grigo can help us win then all for the better. Personally I think either AHL or NHL would be good for him, but I thought Roch's main problem was defence and that they are deep up front?

Well if our defense isn't going to fixed down in Rochester, we need all the firepower we can get up front.

The amerks shots on net are non existant and the PP is a dude. D is not the glaring factor on this team as much as Team offence.

No, it's the defense. It's tough to produce any offense when your defense has the inability to move anyone off the puck or properly start a break out. The forwards aren't free of blame, but the defense is the issue.

I'm not sure how this benefits him any more than the A but I'm not a professional coach

If Grigs comes up again he needs to not be misused.

With this crew of forwards how can he *not* get a chance

Grigorenko wasn't misused. He just wasn't good enough for NHL competition.

That's really the thick of it.

Well, I feel he didn't adjust to having John Scott as his linemate.

There is no point of keeping him in Buffalo if he isn't getting at least 12-15 minutes a night with better linemates and some PP time. Unfortunately, this is the type of scenario where you have to "give" him the ice time before he's earned it. If he is playing on the 4th line with Scott getting 6 minutes, then this is a colossal mistake and he should be in the AHL where he can have to opportunity to play.

The AHL, as the happy medium between juniors and the NHL, seems the best place for him to me. And you know he gets top 6 time and PP time in Rochester.

I'd say Grigorenko getting 15-17 minutes a game is good for the tank.

Well John Scott is such an offensive juggernaut. That's what I'm mad about. It's trivial but he should be playin with better line mates than that. I have no qualms with him and Hecht because it seemed like they did something right. But I just don't think he belongs with the Matt ellises an the John Scott's of the world as line mates.

I don't agree with their decision at all. I think he would benefit greatly playing some meaningful games in the AHL. Oh well...

If Rolston is keeping Ennis as a winger for now, Grigs should definitely get a better chance (better linemates/more minutes) now than he did at the beginning of the year. Doesn't matter if he sucks even, since our season is done. Let him have a taste of playing in a legit top 6 role in the NHL. Either he'll start to figure out how to play there, or he'll see how much more work he really has to do to get there.

It'll be interesting to hear who he's practicing with today.

With them moving Ennis back to the wing for now, I could see Grigo getting Foligno-Stafford as his wingers, letting Marcus handle the draws. At least those two have shown they can be mostly competitent in their own zone.

My guess is that he will be assigned to ROC, just my gut feeling.
