Belong? Hell no.

But how much longer must the Abdelkader experiment continue?

That's because he actually tries to play defense when he's in the middle. It's the same with Franzen. They both more or less ignore defense when on the wing.

As for Tootoo/Abdelkader...

Why not try these lines if we're using those twelve forwards?

Nyquist/Datsyuk/Brunner
Zetterberg/Filppula/Miller
Franzen/Emmerton/Abdelkader
Cleary/Andersson/Tootoo

You know what. That's how our system works. Wingers are forechekers in higher area and center is the most responsible for backcheking. There's nothing weird or special in their acts. They play like they have to play in a different position.

Do some people here think if you throw a random player out in the atmosphere you'll get a nice deal in return. If no one wanted to trade for White for a 2nd round pick, there is no use saying "we are benching White instead of having a 2nd round pick". Unless you have proof that Holland declined trading White for a 2nd rounder or any pick/prospect/player for that matter, your argument is baseless.

Anyways, go Wings!

A nice deal -- some people, yes. But then there are some people who would take a mere 7th rounder for a player that we aren't using. I'm one of those people.

Who knows, but we clearly don't need a Tootoo experiment.

Any pick is better than letting him walk for nothing. Very poor asset management by Holland. I am going to laugh when Flip walks in July. Good thing Holland kept him so the Wings could use his talent to lose in the first round.

Looking at the remaining games and considering our form, keeping the 8th spot seems a bit optimistic, actually.

Babcock said Smith in for White is only change tonight. So Tootoo, Colaiacovo, Lashoff also scratched.

Lashoff scratched again?

What has happened to Babcock? Has he finally found his marbles?

I am guessing he like DD more than Lashoff. Only reason why Lashoff was there was because he is big.

DD might not have the muscle but he is still tall.

Holland wasn't trading roster players away -- from Ansar Khan.

So why would anyone be interested in a guy who wasn't on the trade block?

Teams aren't going to call up Kenny and offer picks for the guy.

That's the kind of deal where Holland has to put it out that White's available, and then take offers.

So your criticism is baseless.

Expect Lashoff back in when DD struggles or the team gets owned

Glad we're spending $2M a year on press box/4th liner Jordin Tootoo.

If Holland and Babcock don't see eye to eye on players:

1) Holland needs to get the players Babcock wants
or 2
2) Holland needs to hire a coach who likes the kinds of players Holland gets

That's kind of the point of experiments.
You try them, and if they work, great. If not, you move on.

You don't stick with a failed experiment all year long

Or maybe nobody wanted White to begin with, which makes your criticism baseless.

If we found a buyer for Huskins, wouldn't finding one for White not be too difficult? White doesn't suck. He's an okay defensive guy who can do some good things on the PP as well.

These 2 do not seem to be on the same page. And that is very bad.
I do not understand either of them this season.

Go Wings!!!

White probably wasn't moved because Colaiacavo has barely played a game this year, Q had a puck to the face, and Holland/Babcock didn't want to be backed into playing Kindl, Smith, Lashoff, and DD every night.

I would have moved White anyway, but with just a dozen games to make it to the dance and still fighting for a ride, keeping the vet around probably shouldn't surprise us. Of course, having to play those four kids every night probably wouldn't be such a big deal if Smith and Kindl were given larger roles with Detroit last year...

White plays = he sucks why is he playing over Smith, Kindl, or DD?
White sits = why wasn't he traded?

Awesome.

Mmmmm. A couple things.

1. Not the whole picture.

2. Not inconsistent.

Usually the people saying White should be playing are saying it should be at the expense of Lashoff's ice time. Who I notice you didn't mention.

Secondly, if White isn't going to play anyway, despite whatever we the fans might want, then why not trade him? Think of it this way. In some crazy alternate universe in which Babcock refused to play Datsyuk, we the fans might very well be raging about "Why the hell is Datsyuk sitting for scrubs?" On the other hand, if he's simply not going to be played, the GM might as well trade him for something of value.

I laughed out loud at the faux description on the back of the BluRay.
