Wow... Buffalo didn't even try to win that in regulation. They played like they actually had something to lose.

Isles were dominated up until they scored their goal off a lucky bounce off the boards. Sabres could easily have had 5 goals.

How does a team get down by 6 to the Oilers in the 2nd period?

I don't really care who we face but I wanted things to be settled already. I certainly hope we don't have to wait until Ottawa & Boston's special game on the 28th.

6-0 in the second? Is this the '83-84 version?

Vanek's already missed a breakaway tonight. Is there anyone else on the Sabres who can score in a shootout? Ennis? Nabby is eminently beatable.

Tavares is going to commit harikari if he doesn't score in the shootout.

It's so crazy that we're at the end of the regular season already. Feels like it just started.

The wild had a ridiculously good record against Edmonton at home. Very unexpected for them to dominate them like that.

I love sport

This is why I don't understand why so many fans after the lockout ended were beating the drum of wishing 48 games was the norm for each season. Shortened seasons are just that - short.

Minnesota comes up with an absolute stinker in their most important game of the season to date. A win and they'd have clinched, but now it leaves the door open for Columbus tomorrow.

I'd love for the Wild to miss out just to punish Leipold.

I've been out of the loop on the Leipold thing. What did he do?

He cried poverty during the lockout after shelling out for Parise and Suter.

didn't Leipold try to sell the Predators to owners who wanted to move the team to Hamilton? i'm not sure what exactly happened, but shenanigans definitely ensued. he also commenced on an epic fire-sale, our own Tomáš Vokoun was a victim - the dude went straight-up Holmgren on him and forced Poile to dump him a week before his NTC kicked in.

A Columbus win in OT would be glorious. Would put Detroit and Columbus on 55 and the Wild on 53. The Wild would then have to beat Colorado to get in. Although I'd prefer a Columbus win outright so that one of the Wild or Detroit missed out.

Also. Even if the Rangers lose today in the early game, it doesn't mean we'll get them because if Ottawa were to lose their last two in regulation we'd get them instead because of the ROW, Ottawa re only ahead right now because they've played fewer games. If they did have the same ROW then we'd end up with them if both teams had the same points as well because they won the series over the Rangers (Although the goal differential definitely would make it close as well in that cat.)

He did agree to sell the Predators to Jim Balsillie but went back on it when Balsillie started selling season tickets in Hamilton before the deal closed. Then he sold to a local group that included a Spano-esque con man.

Yeah, this is the first time I think I've ever been cheering for the Rangers. Of the three potential first round opponents, I just don't want to play them. I don't know if they've got a good enough team to win it all, but they've certainly got one that can do some damage in the first two rounds.
