So essentially, Columbus will clinch with a win and a loss by either Detroit or Minnesota. Detroit and Minnesota will clinch as long as Columbus loses.

For some reason I thought Columbus had to play Detroit.

Columbus win and they need either Detroit or Minnesota to lose. Detroit have to lose in regulation for them to overtake them and Minnesota in OT or better, Regulation.

It'd be great for us if the Rangers played the Bruins in the 1st round. Rangers match up well against them and it'd likely be a series that wears down both opponents.

Last time the two played each other was 1973.... Rangers won 4-1.

We could potentially have all Original 6 Match-ups:
  • Boston Bruins vs. New York Rangers
  • Montreal Canadiens vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
  • Chicago Blackhawks vs. Detroit Red Wings

If the Rags win, we won't play them in the 1st round, and we'll most likely play the Isles. I know rooting for matchups is a dangerous game, but I'd much rather see the Isles (or the Sens, that's still possible) than the Rangers

3-0. That should do it. It's either the Sens or Isles.

Considering Broduer's earlier comments, the results aren't very surprising..

With Philly playing hard since being eliminated (lol), and a tough game against a Bruins team that wants #2, it is going to be interesting to see which team the Pens get.

I may be alone on this, but I'm personally not scared at all about the prospect of facing the Rangers in the first round. However I am rather concerned about the Isles' PP as well as Ottawa's goaltending and tight defensive play.

I'm really hoping for Rags vs Bruins. Will be a war of attrition with plenty of blood spilled and whoever comes out on top will be roadkill for the second round.

It was an incredibly boring game because one team didn't even look interested in competing.

Glad that we won't have to face the Rangers in the 1st round. Let them and Boston/Montreal bash each other senseless. I'm much more confident in our beating Rangers than the Bruins but both teams making the other black and blue would be good for us.

Good thing for the Jackets to have the last game at home.

St. Louis with an assist already.

Actually kinda glad he's going to win the Art Ross instead of Stammer.
