Who is the Blues' MVP this season?

I'd love to hear some thoughts on this. Last year, for me it was Pietrangelo. This year, I have no clue. No real standouts, its been different guys at different times.

The most important player they couldnt afford to lose is Pietrangelo. Maybe that's the answer, but has he been their best player this year?

I like the Steen pick, but he missed 8 games. I think it would be clear cut if not for that.

Jackman doesnt impact the game enough for me but is steady. Allen hasnt played enough, but he was the MVP for a period, IMO. He stabilized the position for a stretch, even when the Blues were still playing a sloppy game and picked up some crucial wins.

Like the picks, might be with you on Steen.

Those 3 just had the biggest impacts, Allen on the whole team and Jackman on Shatty and Petro.

I think you could make a case for Jake Allen. At least in terms of its impact on the team's season, I think his play has been the least expected and the most important. But by the time the post-season is all said and done, I'm hoping Elliott will be the clear MVP. That will mean the Blues really made a lot of noise in the post-season.

I honestly can't answer this question. Several players had good stretches, but nobody has separated themselves as the team MPV.

I think Jake Allen saved the season from crumbling. There are no obvious candidates.

I went with Oshie. Best all around player on the team. Recent injury hurt him a little.

This is just too hard. hell i almost voted cracknell just for being the biggest reason we beat Chicago, tho elliot could contend for mvp of that game also. I voted Sobotka because he's the most reliable player on the team imo and has shown some offensive flair this year. he's far in away our best 4 on 4/ overtime player. I was at the game when he toe dragged the anaheim defensemen then hit stewart backdoor. The man's making a name for himself this year.

How great would the NHL awards show be if that was announced for a major award?

If anyone out there can't find the player they wish to vote for in the poll, feel free to submit a write-in vote in the thread.

Went with Steen after much thought.

I feel like the season went like this; Shatty for 10-12 games, Steen got hot for a stretch leading into Allen stabilizing the goaltending, Stewart was on fire for 10 games or so on every line, maybe Steen again and Elliot right now.

Steens been steady with his point production and plays a solid all-around game. This wasnt easy. Something might change in the next 10 games. Its that close, IMO.

Went with Porter. Obviously he isn't the most valuable, but I think he is the most undervalued when you look away from point production. Jackman, Oshie and Allen are good choices.

Tough to say with how streaky all of our players seem to be. The sad thing is the guy who ends up having the best playoffs or last 5 games of the season is who will most likely get it. It has been a different player every 10 game stretch it seems.

I really might go with Jackman he's been our most consistent player all year. He also has actually had some timely goals this season.

Interesting question. I don't know if there is one other than Allen because he saved the team when it was on a downward spiral.

Took some time to decide but went with Sobotka. He's played the season staying true to his role and then-some IMO.

David Perron:

Offensive zone penalties and 10.0 on a diving score put him over the top.

I have no idea either. The most consistent players this year are Jackman and Sobotka. But neither has had such a big impact you feel like it's MVP-worthy. They've just been steady and reliable. I think it'll take the full season to answer this question.

I voted Sobotka, he has been really solid all year when others weren't. I love the guy plays all out and bigger than his size.

I would have voted Elliot had he performed like this earlier in the season. It could still be made into a case if he continues this down the last few games stretch and our offense doesn't pick up. I think overall he lapsed to long and Allen emerged. However if Halak is out and Allen goes the wrong way, Elliot could still get back in the fold moving forward if he is stellar. In my opinion.
I gotta say I really like Allen though. He appears to possibly be a franchise goalie in the making. I like Elliot as a team guy. I wish he hadn't had such a horrible start.

There's no easy answer here, since it really is hard to pick one guy.

That said, I went with Allen after not much thinking. He saved us from being a sinking ship, period. Major props to him for coming up here and literally saving this team's ass.

If Sobotka is your MVP, it's time to re-think the talent level of the team.
