Granted I was on my phone but the dragon Smaug was meh to me... and it was just his head so mayve it'll look better as a whole dragon.

And jesus ****ing christ that random elf female will no doubt annoy the hell out of me. Bad enough you stuck Legolas in there. The need to have a random female character in there to satisfy the feminists just infuriates me.

I'm glad you say that. As a male, it felt sexist to think that, and I'm glad a female thinks the same thing. Although when you're aiming to make a three hour movie, making things up is a must. I'm sure Legolas and her will have a romance or something like that.

As for Legolas himself, it was bound to happen. As well as we'll probably see Gimli in the Battle of Five Armies. It's good marketing. When the trailer comes out, we'll see Beorn and "the Necromancer" and then they'll show a shot of Legolas, and it'll create a buzz among the people who are only fans of the movies.

Yeah I get the need to include random characters to lengthen the film so you can line your pockets with more money and maintain that doughy physique but its pretty transparent why you chose a "kickass" female and (I'm assuming) love interest for Legolas so the XX army can have something to enjoy as well. But it's so forced that its insulting to me. I don't need a kissing scene to enjoy an action movie. I wish they would've spent her pay on making Smaug look badass and let her go kiss Orlando Bloom in next summer's romantic comedy.

My thesis was about alcochol advertising restrictions.

Legolas actually makes sense at least. He's the son of the king.

Gimli would be a pure fabrication, he was considered too young at the time. I've given up caring about accuracy after the first trilogy though. As long as it's entertaining and not forced I'll deal with it.

News was on and when they previewed the brawl during the dodgers game I just assumed another away fan had been attacked and put into a coma... Didn't enter my mind that it was the teams who were fighting.

It was actually just the D-Backs....intentionally throwing at players heads is never cool.

MLB players, like every other pro sport, no longer have any respect for each other. It's a sad microcosm of society. In the old days when pitchers threw at hitters it was at the legs or in the back. They would not intentionally throw at the head. Then again, hitters wouldn't carry bats out to the mound either.

a couple of female friends of mine works in alcochol distribution. Their work is pretty interesting and also pretty cool
But i would prefer to land a job in advertising, but that is very hard to do here. I have some ideas though.

Watched the Ducks Stanley Cup video. Seems like a lifetime ago. I don't know why I do it to myself, though. I can't get through it without my lip quivering, and the tears flowing (aka crying). I'm not ashamed of it.

I'd give anything to go back and somehow get into that game.

Knowing that Benedict Cumberbatch is the voice of Smaug makes me very happy - he's perfect for it, and the conversations with Bilbo should be the best part of the trilogy.

For those interested, Huell Howser will be doing a show on the Zamboni Monday night on KCET. According to the description he will interview the son of the inventor and take a trip to the Pond to see it in action. I'm sure you all know the Zamboni was invented in southern California.

Yes, season is over now though.

Check out "the Borgias" on show time. Give it at least 3 episodes before you judge it. Jeremy Irons is in it, need I say more?

Don't get me wrong, it's a good show. I was just laughing that the series finale is Sunday.
