Trying to. I'm exploring as much as I can.

A major part of the story is in the movie boxes and the voxes, and several are behind locked doors. I never ran out of lockpicks, but I played on normal difficulty so I could enjoy the story without swearing at the game too much. There are also several movie projectors and slide shows that you should just stop and watch.

I was pretty amazed at how far they were willing to go in the scene where you get the skyhook.

I stopped in each room to let each segment finish. I'll assume you have 5.1 or good headphones?

No more night shifts for me. Feels weird waking up early instead of falling asleep late.

If you go north and don't have a nice car, you may get looks, or even followed through Winnetka by the police if the car is too crappy.

Granted, this is all 2+ decades ago.
Oh I'm used to be followed by cops in my car since it's an all-black Mercedes. Been pulled over a hand full of times because of the tint. Last time I had my gf and our 5 month old puppy with me...not exactly a menacing crew looking for trouble.

And fwiw I keep hearing Big 10 talk on college hockey forums so maybe in a few years they'll get a Div I team.

Hahaha. They really should show that to kids as a deterrent.

Yeah, it's a hard call. Would you kindly was a bigger shock, and the original atmosphere was ground breaking, but this was an amazing story. No idea how they'll top it. I'd rank the both of them and the original Dead Space as my top 3 of the last 5 years I think.

The thing is, I generally gave a crap about Elizabeth. It's tough to evoke that kind of emotion in a character you aren't playing. The sky lines and tears were awesome, too. Yeah, it didn't feel like quite the same giant step that the original was, but I'm not sure how that can be helped. Given that this was built on the same foundation, I was pretty impressed just how impressive it was. The game was ridiculously polished, too. I don't really remember many times where I thought "Couldn't they have done that better/made it smoother?"

I'm trying to think of three games I liked better than those. Nothing is really coming to mind. There were some games I genuinely enjoyed, but Dead Space was like Bioshock of its genre. Sure, it was a little unpolished in terms of the actual gameplay, and kind of chunky at times, but it was a huge leap forward. It's just a shame DS2 and DS3 started to shift more towards action horror than survival horror.

Yeah, I still liked DS2 because it expanded the story nicely, but it didn't have the pacing of DS. The original legitimately scared me on occasion. Duckaroosky was just watching and she refused to go to the bathroom without carrying one of the cats for company/protection for a month or so afterwards. (Don't ask, I don't know what a tabby cat is supposed to do if a necromorph jumps you). I'm still trying to motivate to finish DS3 because I want to know how it ends.

They made a believable NPC that acted intelligently, and made you care. Brilliantly written.
