this isn't a must win but we had better at least come close for the mental aspect of it. this late in the season is no time for feeling like **** about your game individually or as a team.
FWIW i would have left Stoner in for this one too for the reason stated...StL is big and hitty.

There's so many things I want to watch today. Master's coverage all day, 2 NCAA Frozen Four games, and a Wild game?

Wild forgot how to score again

St. Louis easily wins 4-1 Wild booed off ice after each period.

This really is an enormous game. I just looked at the standings. If we are not going to win the division, we still have to fight for that 6th seed at least. We are directly fighting with the Blues over this seed. It would be phenomenal to get 2 points tonight and then look at the rest of the schedule knowing it is fairly friendly and not terribly tough. The Blues have a much tougher schedule... well they still have to play Chicago two more times, Vancouver once.

Huge game tonight, bottom line.

It wouldn't be surprising if the Wild got smoked, but I think they pull out a one goal win.

Also, Stoner with a Gordy Howe........

Coming in peace with a question.

How has Granlund looked lately? I know he was struggling early, but I haven't followed him lately. He was one of my favorite prospects coming into the season and just curious to see how he does.

Looking forward to tonight. The last time we play before becoming division rivals!

He's improved. He's still not playing even close to what he can and hasn't found a way to use his strengths constantly. But he's improved and I believe he'll be fine, especially after gaining some muscle strength.

They better come out a hell of a lot better than they did against the Hawks

Wild don't win, but gain a point in an OT loss or SO loss.

3-2 Blues.

I expect Stoner to have a good game. Unfortunately for Spurgeon the focus will not be on Stoner, and as a result, his defensive limitations, in particular his diminutive stature against big forwards, will be emphasized. People on this board need to sit behind Backstrom sometime, like I do two periods a home game, to understand what I am referring to.

I'm guessing Brodziak will do his usual loafing going into a corner and therefore not win any chases to the puck. Clutterbuck will have at least one shot go high and wide of the net, have one shot that Greenlay considers a pass to go very, very wide of the net, and have one shot from the blueline that Greenlay refers to as a dump-in, but actually is a shot.

I also have a bad feeling Backstrom will be pulled after two quick goals. Keumper will come in, shut down the Blues, and the Wild win in a shoot-out 3-2. Hoppy finally gets his first of the year, along with Brodin on a wicked, wrister. Granlund dazzles the NHL with the shoot-out winner, after Parise's gets robbed, and Mikko puts one in on the patented backhand.

Gee... Thanks for ruining the game with your prophecy. Now I know the result, with details.

Blues seems to be one of the few teams whose road record is significantly better than home record. There goes the home ice advantage.

IMO You can't think about the past as a player or a fan. It's about now.

Both Parise and Seto are overdue for a goal. Wild win 3-2, thus temporarily halting some of us from jumping off the ledge.

Wild lose a close one and wake up Saturday morning holding just a 2pt lead over 9th place Phoenix after they beat the Flames tomorrow night.

Then I'd wish Phoenix good luck facing San Jose (twice), St. Louis, Detroit, Chicago and Anaheim in their remaining games. With us having a game in hand.

I don't know how they will do it, but the Wild will find a way to win.

Exactly. We can't roll over but come on, compare the schedules and yes, it's huge that we have a game in hand.

Oh, I know the schedule differences and expect the Wild to make the playoffs. It'll just be interesting to see how the players and coach react if it gets close.
