Cup or bust, even if they make it to the SCF but lose, its still a bust season. They have loaded up and I dont know if Ive seen a team in the past 5 years with as much pressure as the pens to win.

Well duh.You don't assemble a team like that and want to settle for runner up. Barring the recurrent injuries or goaltending of epic proportions, they should win.

I think the pressure part is greatly exaggerated. Maybe if they hadn't yet won a SC under the Crosby but they've already accomplished that.

They already had Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz, Letang, Fleury, Dupuis, and Neal....and then they add Murray, Iginla, and Morrow. Yes, they're going for it.

Even before they added Iginla, Morrow, Murray and Jokinen, it was cup or bust, IMO.

They had the talent to be a "Cup or bust" team even before the injuries and trades.

Yup. Crosby and Malkin are in there mid 30's. The window's about to close.

Agreed. They have the clear #1 and the clear #2 best players in the world.

It isn't like "well gee we could make some noise and maybe get to the 3rd round"

There will be pressure to win the Cup for every season they have Malkin and Crosby.

But, after being legitimately embarrassed in '10 and '12, and currently holding the #1 seed, they definitely need a good run in '13.

There's always going to be pressure to win when you've got some of the world's best players on your roster. But if the Penguins get knocked out early, in a year they loaded up with so much extra talent and had home ice advantage working for them... it would be devastating for them.

Shades of 93 all over again... PLEASE dont let us play the Isles in the first round. Id rather play Boston, Montreal, and the Caps all at once than that team this year...

It would be huge pressure if they hadn't won in 2009, but it's still definitely there. Especially considering how they were embarrassed in the 2012 playoffs.

If they can't beat the isles, rangers, jets, or whoever in the first round, they never had a shot at the cup anyway. Bring on anyone imo.

No idea why you are acting defensive for that comment.

Its an obvious statement. He is a week removed from being a huge buyer at the deadline.

Game 7, OT...Jagr turns around and roofs it on Rask, flexes to rip his Bruins jersey only to reveal a pens jersey

I have a really bad feeling about the Penguins this year. Is it just me or is it a mistake to add a bunch of trade deadline acquisitions at the expense of your team chemistry already present?
