*At the start of this thread we were thinking 10-4-2 (22 points) would probably get us there. We are 10-1-3 since then (23 points), so 2 games left and the hope of -1 points. I guess now we are looking at 0-2. (NM We are INNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!)

Here is a breakdown of every team's remaining schedule in terms of difficulty.

Islanders 2-0-0... 2 vs team's below us, 0 vs team on par with us and 0 for teams ahead of us. I will use this for the rest of the 7 remaining teams.
Rags 2-0-0
Ottawa 1-1-1
Jets 0-0-1
Toronto 2-1-0
Washington 0-1-1 *Even though they are ahead in terms of seed they are below Boston in points and on par with Ottawa.

I could see us going 5-3 the rest of the way...that would give us 54pts..I think that would be enough to get in..

FWIW the Rags remaining games look much easier than ours imo...I see them going 6-2 or even 7-1 if they keep up thier hot play....

good thing the SENS have been a the slide latley...I see them going 3-6 or 4-5...that would be good for us...

The Rags and the DEVs play each other twice which could turn out to be big...hopfully those 2 games end in regulation...

Yeah, I said that on part I of this, Rags schedule is cake. Looking at the Senators schedule though it seems pretty rough so I feel good about our chances! Jets seem to have a cakewalk too...

Washington has obtained 13 of 14 points in last 7. Pure fire!

Also the SO win for the Rags now puts in 7th (more ROW)

I would say stop worrying about Caps and Rangers. They will make the playoffs. We have to concentrate on Devs and Jets and keep an eye on the Senators.. We are on the drivers seat right now. Next two games are huge. 1-0-1 would be nice.

Loooking at Winnipeg's fixtures I can't help feeling that our game against them on April 20 will be huge.
Probably OTT feel a little bit uncomfortable right now.

Hey guys, since we prevented the Rangers from sweeping the series, you mind owing us a favour and losing your game against the Bruins. Appreciated.

No. You couldn't win last night. No favors. No mercy.

kinda see the Isles finishing 4-1-3... I hope that gets us sixth for selfish reasons because I live in the DC Area and plus I think the Isles matchup very well against WSH and the Isles would my prediction in Six. No Homer... Pens and B's would take the Isles to the woodshed and win in 4 maybe 5 if they are nice to the Isles.

Winnipeg scares me especially cause they got us on ROW.. Rags game is big but think our game in Winnipeg is more important to just making playoffs

Matt Martin is dating Boomer's daughter, so I hope he likes him haha. Otherwise, Martin might have to treat Booms like Kostopolous.

Oh God I hope not! I couldn't handle something like that again. That game alone took a few years off my life. And each game now is shaving off about 6 months. I hope this is as painless as possible... but we all know that can't happen.

Matty Martin seems like one of those dudes who you would be happy your daughter is dating. You know shes safe with him bc only a moron would want to fight him and he is genuinely a great guy. I was laughing on my drive to the office listening to him, Boomer and Carton going back and forth. So glad they locked him up for a while.

Goalies no Rest ?

is anyone else Concerned that we will burn out Nabby.
I highly doubt our backup plays another game this season.
I mean if we are to lock our spot and have a game left maybe then Nabs get s a night off. He is no spring chicken. when will he rest ?

Sure, we'll return the favor. You lost 2 of 3 to the Rags this year, so we plan to do the same with the Bruins. Since we already lost the first two against them, we'll take this one and be even. Fair?

If they lock in a playoff spot before the last game maybe Poulin gets a start especially with the back to back to end the season (BS in my opinion). Other than that ride the hot hand and just get in worry about the playoffs afterwards!

A little news on the Devils just came out that Anton Volchenkov has been suspended for 4 games and earlier today X-Rays on Bryce Salvador came back negative but there is no time table as to when he can return to action.

Agreed. If we have clinched prior to the game against Philadelphia on the 25th let Poulin have that game so Nabokov is not going into the playoffs having been off the last game of the season. If we have not clinched Nabokov starts against Philly
