I thought they played a good 2nd half of the 1st period. They'll definitely score some if they keep it going.

And Volpatti needs to be taken off that line. He's ruining everything. That line can't generate anything because its like they're playing 4v5. He's not even forechecking which he's supposed to be good at.

Yeah, I agree. The Metro into Verizon is so much better than FedEx in the middle of no where. The tailgating scene is better at FedEx obviously, but maybe I'll just go there once or twice a season. First things first, need to get back to DC.

Because every game for 3 weeks has been must win. Hard to get up every single game. If we play like we did the second half of the period we'll win by 2+. Carolina couldn't get it out of their zone.

Ugly first half of first period, but they already seem to be turning it around.

Go Caps!

Carolina came out fired up; we weathered the storm. 2nd period is our period.

How about Carlson. Saved us from being down by 2. Great defensive play.

Also the reason Carolina scored. He couldn't box out skinner whose probably a good 5 inches shorter than him and 30 pounds less. He just stood right next to him instead of in front of him.

He was on the 4-3 penalty kill. He couldn't just sit there and box skinner out...

Which Friends character did we play like in 1st period?

Mixture of Ross and Phoebe, IMO. Fearful and scatterbrained.

That's a tough one on that play. You can't cover them all. There were a lot worse defensive plays by Carlson that I've seen in his career.

If you want to fault anyone for the PK goal, fault Holtby.

It's a tough one any way you slice it.

He also iced the puck needlessly prior to his goal line clear.

I blame Backstrom for not telling the ref that the garbage call was in reality on him not Brouwer.
