Yea, that call yesterday on Molina was stupid. That guy needs to go back to the minor leagues. No place for that in pro ball.

I dont think any pitching staff in the past 60 years has been this good this deep into a season.

It's been a treat hasn't it? I'm just really hoping carp can come back. We need some pen help.

I think that's fair. He definitely went overboard. I can see why the MLB doesn't want that in their game.

Agreed and the guy is just an OBP machine. The advanced statistics/Sabremetrics community loves the guy. He's not flashy, but he gets on base somehow.

I agree, I was expecting more. I wish he'd just sit out a game this series instead of trying to appeal. I don't think they're going to take away the suspension, and I don't want him out against the Reds.

Carpenter was an obp machine last night as well. I was lucky enough to snag some bleacher tix. Lynn pitched really well. Although when he was at 40 pitches after 2 innings I thought he'd maybe make it through 5. He pulled it together and ended up going 7 innings on 105 pitches. He was dealing. Missed Yadi's homer when I went for more beer. Doh!

When we are complaining about the 35th pitchers on the depth chart, team is pretty good.

Rosenthal, Mujica, Maness, and Butler all pitched 2 innings the night before. Joe Kelly obviously started. Choate was used already.

I'm wondering how deep you reasonably expect the Cards bullpen to be

The first 6 guys that would come out of the pen were unavailable.

There used to be a saying that you win 50 games, you lose 50 games and what happens in the other 60 determine your season. Last night was one of those 50. Team was wore out and needed a rest. It happens.

If anything should be said about last night, it was how Joe Kelly accomplished exactly what the Cardinals needed and Matt Carpenter continues to be awesome.

The game Tuesday really hurt the Cards. We went all out to try to win that game, and we lost, and then lost the next game because of it. Win tonight and split the series, and get ready for the Reds.

Two more LHPs added to the Cards' system.

EDIT: And a high school shortstop with great defense, but only hit .280. Next Brendan Ryan?!

It's not so much that I expect them to be any deeper. It's just frustrating to watch bums like Cleto and Marte throw games away. It's bad when you see their name come up in the bullpen and think to yourself, well there goes that game. I don't really understand why those two are still with the organization. Cleto especially. He's been bad at every level and we keep pushing him up the ladder.

Seriously, cut Wigginton. Two years for this guy? He has done absolutely nothing. Surely there's a guy in the minors that can come up for the rest of the season and strike out in every important situation and play horrendous defense. That can't be too difficult to find.
