Frankly, I'm relieved more than anything else. I'm getting sick of trolls piling on Feaster, and having a part of the Iginla deal walk away without ever signing would just add to it.

That's good to hear for a number of reasons (some noted above) and maybe we get to see him in Abbotsford soon (and maybe Calgary)

great news for the Flames. despite the people laughing at the Flames fans for not knowing anything about Hanowski (although i myself haven't watched him play that much), he has some potential.

(i mean the people laughing at the Flames fans are the ones who know nothing about Hanowski, not the Flames fans)

According to Pat Steinberg Feaster has stated that Hanowski will play in the NHL at some point this season.

Tangs goes down. He will probably take the rest of the year off (even if he is healthy to get in again, later on).

Hole opens up for another prospect. Mr. Hanowski, don't disappoint.

Sweet, now I can judge Feaster almost immediately regarding this trade

thanks, sounds about right.

speaking of Flames ELC's, wasn't it announced that Brossoit's was 925k? Capgeek has him @ under $700,000 now

Hanowski will apparently be in Calgary on Sunday, Aliu was called-up to take Tanguays spot tonight. My guess is well probably see Hanowski on Monday the earliest.

Totally.

Speaking of fans, when I clicked that link, one of the first replies or retweets or whatever the hell they're called said "So officially, Flames signed Hanowski to a 1 year deal. What a great GM Calgary has."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's a minimum number of games a rookie needs to play to eat up a year of his ELC if it's signed mid-season, right? For example, with Jacob Trouba, if he played more than 5 games with the Jets this season, he would have expended the first year of his deal.

I'm not sure what the exact terms are for NCAA prospects. But I know Jeremy Welsh signed with the Canes last year on a 1-year Entry-Level Contract (ELC) and it expired last year even though he only played 1 game.

Although it might also be different for UFA ELCs (as with Welsh) vs unsigned draft picks ELCs (as with Hanowski).

At the very least, the Flames may have offered him a game or two in the NHL this season to prevent him from going the UFA route in August.

the number of games rule is only for payers under the age of 20, once a player is under 20 the contract starts if they play or not.

Are we at the 50 contract limit again? Would be nice to sign at least one more college FA now that the season is basically over,
