I do not give a **** about Burke's critics, you can't tell me with a straight face he wouldn't be a big upgrade over what's here now.

He's the best available GM and highly motivated, hire him.
This. And get rid of Lowe also. Burke has balls and that's something this team needs. He hates to lose. Something the oilers love to do ..

Nothing like erasing the memory of a 5 game winning streak like a 5 game losing streak.

I have not commented on this forum for some time however how much longer does this management have? That display of putrid garbage tonight tells me nothing has changed whatsoever. This is the same team from years previous, no drive and most of all no ffing heart. I don't give a rats *** the myriad of excuses from management, coaching and worst of all the paid media. The team needs an enema and it starts at the top. They wilt at the first sign of sustained pressure, absolutely no pushback, Smyth laughing at the bench when losing horrendously. I don't care if they rattled off five wins in a row, good teams do not go on sustained losing streaks and they certainly don't come out lackadaisical at the beginning of games. Unbelievable to continually lose to teams which on paper should not beat this team. Lowe and Tambellini need to go, Smyth either bought the **** out or retire and Krueger on a short leash for the start of next season. No it won't happen as our owner as long as he rakes in the money will allow this crap to continue. I believe Harold Ballard and Wirtz are going to save a seat for Katz in the future.

I miss the Oilers of the 90's that played their hearts out, and never took a shift off, and made a lot of big hits. I would trade that team for this team right now in a second.

The NHL isn't okay with it. That's why they changed their draft format. Every non-playoff team has a shot at 1st overall now.

Just when we thought the team could not sink any lower-- they find another hole to fall into

as for the Burke thing

Good News bad news

Good News I think Burke would be better then both Tambo and Klowe

BAD NEWS is Edmonton is too small of a town for his ego

Didn't one of the Flames' owners tell Feaster to get that team into the playoffs next season or else?

Too bad Katz would never even have that kind of thought cross his mind.

They are probably both acquaintance's to each other now a days, but i just don't see Kevin Lowe having the business sense to support Brian Burke's hire. I hope i am wrong.

I wouldn't mind Burke but he likes to have complete control and autonomy when it comes to hockey matters so Lowe would have to go and that just isn't happening.

I think I'll just laugh hysterically if the Oilers win it again anyway.

Terrible effort. Terrible coaching. Why was Dubnyk not playing? It's a joke they don't allow him a bounceback game and instead play the geezer. I have no idea what this team is doing. So disheartening....

Yup. Agreed. Whenever I say something similar I get chastised for yearning for mediocrity. I'm sorry but that wasn't mediocrity. That was entertaining, engaging hockey and worth every dollar.
