So will he be leaving the Flames very soon because of ownership taking over his job?

Still like Venk but he hasn't really shown anything that should convince us to keep him over any of our rookies and he doesn't really fill a need for us at this point. 99% he walks especially if Reinhart, Horak and Bärtschi keep this kind of play up.

Off topic, but I'm really not a fan of watching Hartley's play-style. I actually somewhat miss Sutter.

Hopefully, doesn't serve any purpose on this team really and I am definitely not willing to make a roster spot for him next year as some are suggesting.

I think a one year contract was the only option, same as Brunner.

If Cervanka had played well, you'd have wished he could have been signed longer.

Cervenka was subjected to an NHL entry-level contract. For his age, it could only be for 1 year.

He has skill, we don't have much skill or depth, hence we should give him another look. What's he going to cost? $700-800k (if he wants to stay, that is)? Might as well. If it doesn't work out, he'll just fill the same role he is now.

Guy was a star in the KHL. I don't see him as a guy who ultimately cares about the team enough; he could run back to Russian for 3,4,5x that amount heh.

Hard to know.

Maybe he has realized it is hard to get a job in the nhl and would rather be a rich puppet than a poor commentator.

Maybe the Flames ownership isn't as bad as Tampa's ownership (mind boggling)

Maybe both? From his interviews he seems to like Calgary and wants to be here for the long term.
