Los Angeles Kings prospect awards feature a well-rounded group of players

While some teams thrive in the development of one position or another, the Los Angeles Kings have had players of all shapes, sizes, positions, and styles put up noteworthy seasons this year that deserve recognition. While the prospect pool has waned in recent times with promotions, trades, and general roster transactions and development, the team still has a wide range of talent in multiple positions. All the way from the two-way grinding forward, to the pure sniper, to the gritty and physical defenseman, the Kings have seen a number of talented draft picks put up superb seasons in 2012-13 in very different ways.… read more

Another solid well written article.

What I find funny is that so many people can't see how we have an amazing amount of high end depth in our system and believe that we aren't one of the deepest teams in the NHL.

Muzzin leads all rookies in +/- for dmen and is 3rd in scoring. He has a ways to go but his upside is very very good. With MG coming back and the addition of RR Muzzin should end up playing with a solid SAH Dman and that is what he (or any rookie really) needs more than anything. Like Willie was with DD (so was Scuds) Muzzin needs a steady SAH dman to show him the ropes. He has been doing great all things considered.

Voynov only recently played in his 82nd game and would be considered a rookie by most fan bases but we all know/knew better. Seems like most view him as a well established vet who has been around for awhile. Kid is in his second season first full season.

Toffi? AHL rookie of the year. Some seem surprised but we have been on him since day one (and a few of us before that). TT is doing what we knew he would do since day 1.

Vey? Leading scorer for young players and I think either 3rd or 2nd in the AHL. He had a 43 pt season last year as a rookie in 74 games on a better equipped MCH team and with all of the changes that have taken place down on the farm including TT being with us for awhile now LV is still right there with the best.

I am not even a little bit surprised by his production. I have been saying that he would be special all along (and so have a few others).

Andy Andy is becoming a very good bottom 6 player who is really NHL ready today for what he is going to do and will make the team next year (imo). Going to be a pretty darn solid player.

TannerP (TP) is looking like he should have gone in the top ten instead of 30th. Kid hits plays with heart is smart and has solid hands. Won't be long before he makes it to the show and becomes a very good top 6er.

Nick Des is finally starting to play the way that I and others said he would. I would agree with him being an underachiever but he has turned the corner for pretty much the entire second half of this seasonI know I have hyped him a ton since his days in the Q but he is a special player. A second pairing Dman who can play very physical (not as much now but he still drops the gloves) skates well and is learning how to become a threat on O in the AHL. He needs another season imo but he could become a very good fan favorite heart and soul Dman in the end.

Forbort can play and while I don't see him being more than a #4/6 with #3 potential at this point he should become a better option then Ellerby for a big Dman before too long. He is a solid NHL caliber prospect that can do everything well enough to where he should be with the team before too long.

Gravel is as solid as they come. I have written enough about him so i will let his game do the talking. I can't wait to see him in the NHL.

Shore is an exceptional prospect and I think he will give us an upgrade over Stoll when the time comes, maybe by a bit too.

I mean, we have more NHL caliber prospects then a few of the other HF ranked teams in the top ten easily. When our by passed players are making good names for themselves in the NHL I think it shows a ton about our prospect system.

We are in great shape and I have left out several of our solid prospects. That's my 02cents anyways.

The article was great and I liked it allot.

lolir.

None taken. I get excited about a few of our kids. By the way, Vey not only walks on water (though frozen) he practically flies across it!
