In this case it stands for dumb post seeing that the play you are referring to didn't even result in a Blackhawks powerplay. Nice try though.

Haha to each his own I guess. I love Kane's creativity and playmaking ability, something our team is sorely lacking.

Elliott holds it. Around 240 minutes.

They're talking about Brian Elliot not giving up a goal in 209 min on NBC.

What if he doesn't give up a goal until next year?

haha. Hope I don't jinx him.

It seems Blackhawks fans don't like hitting

True, but Kane's a gutless puke. I'd hate to see him in Blue.

Blues on the dot in the first period:

Sobotka: 100 %
Berglund: 100 %
Backes: 56 %
Porter: 50%

That is critical to keep those numbers up for the next 40.

scrum in 1st. Stewie letting Shaw chew on his stick. Check the head whip from Shaw.

No, but my guess is that we won't notice him on the ice for the next 10 minutes of the 2nd period anyway.

Agreed, he should go beat up another old taxi driver to make him feel tough

Harsh

I will agree that he didn't seem a big factor in the first.

It would be nice, but I don't see that happening. Can't see the Blues finishing this game with 50+ hits, either.

With that said, that was the sort of period that can definitely set a tone for the game. It's nice that the Blues have elevated the level of their play after the trade deadline to "playoff quality" hockey like most of the other contenders in the West. They might not win, but they can go toe to toe with most anyone nowadays.

We came out strong, but I hope we actually keep it up unlike the Columbus game.

If Porter can keep that faceoff% above 50% to go along with his great play then Nichol really may not see the ice again.

Disagree. I thought Berglund had an outstanding first period. He won a bunch of battles, didn't make any mistakes with the puck, and had a couple of chances.

Yep, Berglund does the little things right but they aren't the things that fans typically notice.

I agree that they can't keep them that high but realistically they should be able to stay above 50% as a team (I think).
