Well unless we're going to start cheapshotting guys not much on the Backes front.

This is like...every Hawks @ Blues game from the past three years though. The Blues always come out extremely physical.

I wonder. Does Keith have a single hockey IQ point between the ears?

You're just mad about his PP performance. We all know he blows at the point with an extra man. It's the fault of the coaches for running him out there when they know his inadequate as all hell in those situations.

Canucks 2.0 on our hands here. Hopefully Toews will be okay. He's a warrior, but he needs to heal for the playoffs. No need to bring him back in a nasty game like this, he's just gonna be injured more.

I'm hoping we seen Kane go into a little beast mode for the rest of the game here.

If this nonsense keeps up I wouldn't be surprised to see Carcillo, Bollig, and Handzus in the lineup next time be play the Blues, maybe this LeBlanc fella too, he looks like a tank.

The Blues wouldn't be doing what they're doing if the ****ing refs called penalties on the Blues.

I actually like the response of the Hawks. Brookbank wanted to fight, but the Blues guy is a *****. Then that scruff next to the Blues net was a good response. But, the Hawks don't need to play goon hockey they just need to play their kind of hockey and we win.......simple as that.

You witness that ... and come back with that pathetic crap, and nonchalantly suggest LeBlanc should play. Any Hawk fan should be furious after witnessing that first period.

Nucks outside of occasional moment don't play like this

Most Hawk/Nuck games are physical but not like this

Love NBC showing a Toews/Stanley Cup hoisting video from 2010...Blues fans just sit there wondering what it feels like to see their team win it all...they'll have to sit quite a bit longer by the looks of it

The first three games of Hawks/Nucks '11 were exactly like this.

Then the Hawks showed they could score consistently and take advantage of the dumb physical plays and the hitting stopped. Its the exact same thing they need to do here...

The Hawks are the Hawks. The Blues are goons. I'm going to be furious at the Hawks because they're getting gooned by a goon team?

Why furious?? The Hawks played fine. They don't have a team of goons like said Blues, so expect that type of play is idiotic. We are a finesse team not a bunch of hacks.

Its 0-0 on the road in the 1st intermission, why should we be furious?

When the captain and the best player on your team is cheaply hit twice by the same player and there is no response on said player it is just a little bit distressing. The Hawks don't need to be the Bruins, but they definitely need to show more of a response than they have. It's like there is no middle ground with you.

Come on, Backes has been targeting Toews for 4 years now and the Hawks haven't done anything about it. How does that not bother you?

Well I mean, our captain got hurt on a borderline cheap play which is pretty crap

...and that is how you beat the Blackhawks in the playoffs, physical play and injure one of their top players. Raffi Torres did it the last two years.

Torres put the Hawks in a 3-0 hole against Vancouver and let in two awful OT goals?

We should've traded for him
