Well, Pierre-Marc did score last night so I think he deserves to be in the lineup for tonight.

Anyways, we all know it's his last season here. It shouldn't be a problem next season.

I wouldn't mind Brodziak sitting for a game or two.

Or Clutter.

Because Bouchard is so awesome and because Granlund ****ed up once in the last game (although based on that Brodziak should be benched and Stoner shouldn't have cracked the lineup in weeks). I think it's pretty clear that Yeo doesn't trust Granlund at all. Next season when we have a regular 82-game season, Yeo needs to stop benching the rookies every time they make a mistake. Even players who have been in the league for a decade mess up sometimes and that leads to goals, but they don't get benched.

This is really a must-win game. If there are any hockey gods out there, let Koivu score or at least get a couple of assists. Please and thank you.

IMO, Suter was the big off-season pick-up, not Parise. Suter has lived-up to expectations, Parise has not. Think about it. When Clutter was on Mikko's line, he put up decent numbers. When Miettenan was on Mikko's line he put up good numbers. When Mikko was out, or when they weren't on his line, they did jack-squat. Seems like Parise is Clutter/Miettanan 3!

Obviously Parise is viewed as a much better player than the other two. Success on a high stage, at all levels of play. Someone who should be able to do it on his own. To step-up when needed. He was a Captain of teams, and many on this board seem to think he should be the Captain of the Wild. So if Mikko is not producing, then Captain/Captain-material/assistant Captain Parise ought to be. But he is not. He has a couple of assists in April. So what, Mikko is supposed to be the assist guy, Parise the goal guy.

I understand all the reasons why he was signed in the off-season. But have you thought perhaps his game is better suited for the Eastern Conference? The Wild have trouble with Western Conference teams with size. That is why Parise does well when Mikko and Coyle are his linemates. But take-off one of those two, or one of the two is not playing well, Parise is marginalized.

My friend is a former STH, and a big Rangers fan. Obviously he sees all the East coast teams a lot. His opinion is that Pomenville is actually a better player than Parise. I am just stating what he said. I guess we will see.

Instead of listening to the homer announcers about his number of shots translating to a great game (I translate the puck actually going in to a great game), or focusing upon his repeated attempts at trying to stuff the puck in the net, watch Parise's battles along the boards.

Am I glad he is on the team? Yes. Is he a first or second-liner (won't be anything but considering his pay level), Yes. Has the product lived-up to the hype? Well, not really. Particularly when the results for the team seem no better than last year, though the team on paper is much improved.

Yeo probably has the "better scratch rookies rather than vets" mentality.

I could care less if you are a rookie or a vet. If you play well, you get to stay in the lineup. And it would be even more beneficial to let rookies play and get experience of playing in big games.

That was an unsatisfied "PMB..."

He's been given chances but he hasn't done much. Would rather give Granlund the chance as he can atleast play at the same level and gain confidence at the same time. Ideally, I'd put Zucker-Cullen-Seto (2nd) and Granlund-Brodz-Poms/Coyle (3rd).

Bouchard didn't score, the other team knocked the puck in. Bouchard was given credit.

Meh on Butch over Granlund. Butch is playing about the worst hockey of his NHL career yet Granny can't outplay him now.

Guessing:

Parise - Koivu - Coyle
Bouchard - Cullen - Setoguchi
Zucker - Brodziak - Pominville
Rupp - Mitchell - Clutterbuck

If Granlund were to play, Id keep him at 2nd line LW and put Zucker on the third line with Brodziak and Pominville. That would be a tough 3rd line to play against.

I think Zucks matches better with Cullen and Seto as they're all quite speedy. G-B-C would be more of a cycling line that could get the pressure going.

I hope Zucker is with Cullen and Seto. That line was dynamite with him on it, but I guess I am happy that Zucker is in the lineup. We need his energy and shots so bad. I think we will win this one tonight.

Edit: According to Russo's blog, lines are:

Parise-Koivu-Coyle
Zucker-Cullen-Seto
Bouchard-Brodziak-Pominville
Rupp-Mitchell-Clutter

I think that a Zucker-Pommer duo could be deadly. Too bad Brodz is their center.

edit: fine with reuniting the 2nd line though!

Brodziak and Koivu better bring their A-game tonight. Maybe we need to get Nick Johnson back and pair him up with Brodziak. Those two were magic down low together. We should have traded Bouchard for Johnson at the deadline.

Hope we get some scoring now that lines 1 & 2 are back the way they were.

On the Granlund scratch, I seriously hope that they let him play - in Houston or here.

But who would score the phantom goals for the Wild???

PMB...-2 and one "goal" since the deadline.
