I really don't see Biega's place on this team at this point.

As there shouldn't be. Biega is an AHLer.

Depth you can stash in the AHL and call up when we get like 2-3 injuries.

Cheaper than Weber since that's who he's replacing. Decent enough.

The conditions are production based according to Bob McKenzie.

He's better than Sbisa at $3 million less.

I'm okay with Larrsen as a 7th/8th defenseman.

I like Biega's story but for me, he's just never passed the eye test. He's a pure AHLer to fill in as a 9th/10th dman when injuries pile up.

If only we could dump Sbisa.

Sorry might have been asked before. UFA or RFA after this season?

It's bizarre how everyone writes off Biega's abilities as an NHLer when in reality, he's a significantly better NHL defenseman than Sbisa, Bartkowski, Weber, or Pedan.

Could end up being as "good" as he was last season if he's given a role more than he's suited for.

Deal as it is, is good. Cheaper than Bart was last season (which I didn't think was that bad even though he didn't turn out to be any good).

The thing is, he's not really cheaper than those players because he also cost a draft pick.

I think we'd be better off just signing Justin Schultz over dealing a pick and then signing Larsen.

Well to be fair, all 4 of those players are awful players and really none of them should be on our team...

I consider the draft pick "a sunk cost" at this point.

Schultz I already know is crap (horrid defensively & I'm probably being kind); at least Larsen could be better.

I don't think Biega being the #6 guy on a contending team really hurts it, personally.

Poor physical tools but good positioning, decision making, and work ethic.

Hope he can live up to it. It would be great if he could come in and surpass expectations in camp.

Although we have a logjam on D now.
