Yeah...the Catholic school they are in here in town only goes up to 6th grade...so we will probably move to a better district sometime in the next 6 years. My town is so rural/conservative/anti-taxes that they are starving our local school system to death. Also, there's 4 districts within about 5 square miles that they were talking about merging last year. Would mean increased aid from the state, decreased costs for administration...every district approved it but ours mainly because the people here can't stand to lose the football team.

Hidy ho neighbor!

What kind of rental are you looking at? An actual house, or townhouse? Apartment? Condo? Duplex?

I'll check with the Chief Rental Officer and find out what she wants the most.

Gonna be a busy month and a half

Driving parents house tomorrow, wilkes barre on Weds-Friday to find a place to live, back to parents for a night or two, back to Chicago Sunday.

After that its:

Guys Beer Weekend (going to most of the major breweries in MI) followed by lady's med school graduation in May

Lady and I taking a week to CA in June (flying out there, driving from San Diego to San Francisco in a rental car)

Immediately upon returning (like, the next day), we are loading up a moving van and driving it to PA.

This weekend was awesome.

My kids met my GF and they got along famously. They also loved her dogs.

The only problem is my 11yo being addicted to his iPod Touch I gave him for his birthday on Wednesday.

Hopefully he puts it down long enough for Pee Wee evals tonight....

Camping this weekend, found a couple of damned fine lengths of wood to whittle down into walking sticks. I forgot just how relaxing I find whittling.

Clock said "9/10. Will eat again."

I didn't like it. It was too beer-y.

The recipe sounded interesting but that was my concern. Guess I won't be trying this one or at very least I'll be finding something to use other than beer.

Not to mention it seems like a waste of perfectly good beer. Why ruin it with other stuff when you can just drink it?

Not sure if its the same thing, but the last time I went camping, (I was 12) my brother and I ... Carved? Wood darts from sticks. But camping is fun. I hope you guys had/ have fun!

The consistency and everything else was really good. I bet if you replaced the beer with chicken broth, it would be delicious.

Our handyman has begun! New flooring in the entry is already going in and we have a new toilet for the upstairs bathroom. Various lengths of trim and some new crown molding for the family room will tidy things up nicely. Oh, and we're replacing the last two downstairs windows basically at cost thanks to my brother-in-law's overwelming awesomeness.

All the **** I don't want to do is on a list and in the handyman's hand (in his Iphone actually). I expect the finish work he does will add to initial viewing "wow" factor and we will more than get our money back on the work.

I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Ironically, I'm talking to one of the guys who used to do my daily tasks at work right now. I do most of what my old manager did, but without the title, salary or perks.
