Here's a link from the Flyers

RINALDO & ROSEHILL EXTENDED
Flyers GM Paul Holmgren announced this evening that the club has agreed to a two-year contract extension with forwards Zac Rinaldo and Jay Rosehill.

Rinaldo posted three goals and five points to go along with 85 penalty minutes in 32 games for the Flyers this season.

He is currently out of the line up, missing the last seven games, with a high-ankle sprain on his left leg. Prior to his injury, he was one of the Flyers leaders in hits this season, posting 143 in 32 games.

Rinaldo also missed four games from Jan. 22-27 due to lacerated right thigh.

Rosehill was acquired around the trade deadline from the Anaheim Ducks on Apr. 1 in exchange for Harry Zolnierczyk.

Since joining the Flyers, he has one goal and 47 penalty minutes in seven games.
Not surprised about Rinaldo, he would have had a lot of interest around the league had the Flyers not re-signed him. Slightly surprised about Rosehill as he passed through all last summer as an UFA.

I like it. More players on your teams need to be beaten up.

Depending on the cap hit, I have no issue with Rosehill. He's been effective and under control in his brief stint here, and the less guys like Simmonds and...Voracek...have to drop the gloves, the better.

I'm more interested in seeing them extending Adam Hall. He has been playing great for us. Although I do approve of the Rinaldo extension.

Rinaldo has played about as well as you can expect from a 4th liner with limited offensive skills. Especially a young player. Complete 180 from last year. If he could develop into a PK'er, ala Matt Cooke, that would be even better. He's certainly got the speed and energy.

Rosehill...well, I guess you need a heavyweight and he hasn't hurt the team with any stupid penalties yet. Hope that continues. If not, there's a nice warm seat in the pressbox with "Jody wuz here" etched above it.

Now now, Matty's been a good boy recently. He hasn't ended anyone's career in well over 2 seasons. That's like a million years in hockey terms.

Rinaldo draws more penalties than he gives away and has been very disciplined this season. He's not a bonehead any more. Rosehill hasn't made any boneheaded plays so far.

because saying certain players on one team do dirty things/are dirty players means you're also saying all players on your favorite team play fairly. got it.

Rinaldo has improved so much. He doesn't take bad penalties much anymore. Actually he draws a ton of penalties now. Obviously, he will always be known for his ferocious checking, which is on another planet. In my opinion, he's the perfect 4th line energy player.

On the other hand, giving Rosehill 2 years is perplexing. I wish it was just 1 year.
