Seeing the Oilers highlights reminds me of the pre-game show where Hedican totally burned Edmonton. He tried to salvage it by saying it was a nice city, but the damage was already done.

Its still a 4th line. No one on that line can score.

Marleau for all his effort tonight sucked. Missed golden opportunity for a goal and lazy play on the following backcheck cost us a goal. And those weren't is only frustrating plays. Thornton was meh as was Couture, but Couture had some great shots that could have landed. Burns is a Beast, Galli is flying and Niemi, well it's been said. Yeah Torres!!!

Oh, and we survived Hannan's first game on the ice.

So did I miss Kennedy getting sent down, or has he been getting an NHL paycheck from the press-box this last month?
I don't want him in the line-up, I'm just curious.

As I understand it he is on IR, which must be LTIR by now.

Not sure that the shootout thing has affected SNOG results too much this year. Still, it's definitely something to consider and would be relevant going forward as long as the Sharks keep getting into shootouts.

Some things I've been thinking of proposing in the offseason (but not midstream):

1) Game-deciding shootout goal (as listed on the NHL web site) counts as a goalscorer.

2) Instead of the game-deciding shootout goal thing, goalscorer equivalent for calling a shootout, but you only get to predict [goals minus 1] goalscorers for the winning team.

Sounds like a sweet gig. Sit in the pressbox and watch NHL hockey live, practice and travel with an NHL team, and make all that paper without having to actually play?

He looked a little too eager on a couple shifts in overtime, pretending to be a winger and failing. But yeah, solid night. I wonder how many games he'll play and if he'll get an opportunity in the playoffs.

Greiss' gig is better. All that but with a better seat.

I dunno. Gotta chart faceoffs though. Kennedy can sit up there with a beer.

I heard the hit on Burish might be suspendable. What'd ya'll think? Didn't see it at the game well.

Some Ross the Intern sounding guy at the game sitting behind me tonight kept chanting "beat Sacramento! Beat Sacramento!" over and over and over. I wanted to stab myself in the brain it was so annoying.

Anyway, patty looked like total feces out there tonight.

Only time I really noticed Hannan was that rush by Marleau that he ruined in OT.

The good: Gali and Burns were awesome tonight. The D and Niemi played a solid game.

The bad: Thornton had another weak game and added face-offs to his woes. Marleau's backchecking on that second goal was weak.
