On a much better team, Besides a game I believe in the playoffs when Bergeron was hurt I don't think he was a big factor. I must admit that Galchenyuk has been impressing me big time with his 2 way play, still putting up solid numbers and getting no ice time whatsoever on the pp which is not surprising with Therrien and his love for veterans

This isn't an "out of this world" play by any means. Galy has sick hands, but so does Seguin...

I take Seguin, but I'd love Galy on my team as well

Ouff this poll is very very tight! I was very jealous of the Bruins when they drafted Seguin but now that we have Galchenyuk, I'm pretty stoked. Seems like Galchenyuk is a natural center whereas Seguin is more confortable on the wing. They both have different style of plays, but I have to go with Galchy. I feel like he will be more complete.

Possibly, but it hasn't happened yet.
Well, no. Only one person can do that. If this poll was Marchand vs. Galchenyuk, it would not be close.

I didn't think so.
Half the players in the NHL can do this. It's not nearly as hard as it looks.

And to Chieftans22:

Seguin-------29pts---17:04toi---93:45pptoi
Galchenyuk-- 23pts---12:21toi---45:37pptoi

Also Seguin is purely a winger now, he is hopeless at center.
Oh ok, so these stats tell the whole story? Got it.

If that's the case, how come we did not see this being done more often in the NHL?

It doesn't work on an NHL defenceman. Hell, it doesn't work in juniors. If you've ever played hockey, you'd know that/

Yeah there's nothing that special about that move. It looks nice and works every once in awhile but not too difficult to pull off

I have seen Galchenyuk do it in Juniors, I have seen him do it in the NHL now as well. He is the youngest player in the NHL and did the move. That is pretty impressive.

Galchenyuk has a significant advantage in production at every age and every level.

he's also already more comfortable at centre than seguin is, is bigger, and has a more complete skillset.

i'd take galchenyuk running away.

As soon as Galchenyuk scores more than 65 points in a full season, I will respond with my post. As of now it's Seguin clearly. More experience, better 2 way play, is just as good as a center/winger. More versatile, can get physical, and is oozing with potential, just like Alex. Good poll, but I'd take Seguin until I see what Alex can do in a full season, staying healthy, consistent is all important.

Everyone can do the move - high schoolers can pull that.

The point is, it might fool the defenseman but it doesn't get you anywhere.

The argument you used supports the opposite of your claim! This pretty much shows he's not top 20. Having the 9th plus minus on one of the best teams in the league while playing 3rd line minutes does not make you top 20

Seguin has the edge for now but it will be fun to watch in the next few years when those 2 young guns are the go-to guy for both team.

It's not a hard move to make, but it's a hard move to put to good use. Also, on the gif, you can clearly see Hainsey falling on his ass because he wasn't expecting it.

That move is really easy to do but it shows talent to doit on an NHL defenseman making him look silly and then cutting into the slot and almost putting it upstairs.

Seguin. More developed and can fit nicely on the rw and play center if need be.

On topic of that move, I can do that and I am not close to going anywhere in hockey. It truly is a basic move.

Voted Seguin, I like his game more and he pumps my Leafs everytime.

Whether or not he can do it in an NHL game is irrelevant. The poster used that move as proof Galchenyuk has sick hands. Galchenyuk DOES have sick hands, but that move does nothing to prove it.

I see plenty of guys in beer leagues using that move to get outside of defensemen. I've used it myself. And my hands are better made for drinking than playing hockey. It's a simple move that requires a little hockey skill, but not NHL level skill.

It still doesn't change the fact that Galy has incredible talent, but it does nothing to help prove it, either.
