Antoine Laganiere signs with Ducks

Good for Anaheim to get a highly touted NCAA free agent back:

Idk nothing about him. Eliteprospects shows he`s pretty big and plays center.

It`s always exciting to see we got some new prospects. But is this guy very good? Is he physical, can win faceoffs (Ducks seriosuly need to upgrade this category) and is he defensively good? Looks like he isn`t the offensive beast, judging by stats. Any reports would be cool.

Seachd, you mentioned he was highly touted. Can you exlain anything more?

he is the most wanted college FA available, I have him ahead of dekeyser.

Basically you got a 1st round pick for free.

I should be careful. Not highly touted like Schultz was, but among this year's college free agents, he was thought by most to be in the top 5.

I really don't know much about him but getting him for nothing can't be a bad thing for the Ducks!

You guys got a damn good player. Canucks have been scouting him for years. Congratulate your management team for stealing him from the frontrunners. I have no clue what caused him to sign with you guys but your management must be amazing.

I've seen him as the top forward on a lot of lists.

Maybe he'll get a chance at #2C with Holland being sent down and Bonino still out.

Those highlights show me three things that stand out:

1) He uses his body well.

2) He has pretty good hands for a big guy

3) He goes to the dirty areas without hesitation.

According to Renaud Lavoie he is reporting to the Ducks and not Norfolk.

Or just clarify what "video highlights" you've been "watching".

Good for him. Hope he has a great career with you guys. Was hoping for him on the Canucks but I'm glad he's getting a big chance with the Ducks.

He also seemed pretty fast, I thought, although somewhat awkward-looking skating-wise.

Before the season i was pretty pissed about our center situation in organization. We barely had 8 centers for Anaheim/Norfolk. Since then we have added veterans like Lombardi and Steckel and prospects like Sarault and Laganiere (had to check twice for his name), who both was one of the best players in their leagues, as reported.

Interesting. Is that for training porpouses? Will he really get a game or few this season? I`ll be surprised then.

He's not a center guys, he's a winger. Hockey DB lists him as a center which is why people are confused. He played as a winger in Yale. I could see him on the Ducks' second line.

I wish HF would do the research or better yet at least watch some college games. The kid is a right wing and has been. All you had to do was watch the Frozen Four.

Positions on HF are more often than not wrong.

Oh well.

But i`m sure we could stil use him in our organization

If he really gets a game or few with Ducks, it`ll be on 4th line, i`m pretty sure. Although, Bruce wont hesitate to mix him with every single player on our roster in that game
