Well, sure, he could and should still get faster. But especially for a guy his size, he almost always seemed to gain ground on all other guys.

But he looks like the type of guy that could mesh with Getzlaf/Perry relatively soon.

Hopefully.

He says he wants to add more weight. Overall he sounds like a great guy o have in our organisation.
His recent interview.

Wow, I've gotta admit I had no idea who this guy was at first, but judging by that video he looks like a player that would fit perfectly with Getzlaf and Perry. He skates really awkwardly but it seems to work.. Maybe him and Etem could form a ugly skating duo, haha.

Hahaha, man, we are just sneaking every prospect away from Montreal these days, aren't we?

My impression is that Vancouver is the most pissed off about this one. But yeah. He grew up a Habs fan and Montreal was interested.

I don't know about "all" the management, but I'm sure Burke and the scouts made a pretty compelling sales pitch about have Getz and Pers locked up, as well as our current record might be playing in to it.

Well done. Finally a guy with some size. And judging by that highlight video, he isn't afraid to throw the body around. I like it

Probably.

We're starting to get stacked (more than usual) in the system in general. I'd argue that Sarault and Laganiere were basically two free first round quality players, and guys like Gagne and Whitney are the kind of guys you'd expect out of the top 3 rounds.

Hadn't heard of him before today, but I like what I'm seeing so far. Hopefully we'll get to see him a little before the season's over.

I hope he gets a nice shot with perry and getzlaf, he seems like he could be perfect on that line. I bet thats part of the reason he came here, having a chance to join the Perry and Getzlaf line.

From the yale games i saw i liked his style.

Or maybe they weren't actually the frontrunners.

edit - Hooray, something newer than Etem and Palmieri! Clearly that makes him a first line winger and the answer to our scoring woes.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. They're good prospects, but good performances at the lower levels don't guarantee anything.

I agree with those assessments. He looked kind of clumsy and had an awkward skating stride but it didn't seem to matter much.

I wouldn't agree that these guys we're signing are the equivalent of getting first round picks though, they're far from it. We haven't had a college free agent signing pan out since Dustin Penner and I'm not sure if we've ever signed a junior guy who wasn't drafted that panned out.

Eh its pretty safe to say our prospect pool is pretty stacked, we dont no how theyll turn out as nhl players but as far as having options and players that have potential to make it were sitting pretty right now.

Wow...

6'4 and 215 pounds, and wanting to add more weight.

I think in time he could really fit into Getz/Perry's grinding style.

Going to be awesome to see which prospects pan out. Future just keeps looking brighter.

My french is a bit rusty, but my rough translation:

"They called me Friday and told me what they thought of me and about their plans for me as a winger in their organization. Honestly, their AHL system looks pretty good. When it came time to choose I was very [most?] comfortable with choosing Anaheim."

I am super excited about this, I don't get to watch much college hockey cause I am in so cal, but from that video he looks VERY promising.

Lets put it this way.
Even before these recent signings THN had the Ducks ranked 2nd best prospect pool in the NHL next to Edmonton.
Adding Laganiere, Sarualt, Whitney, and Gagne can only help.
