You get your reading comprehension checked first. That clearly referenced Weiss with the second part (that you didn't bold, being about Bozak.

Weiss. The only reason Weiss hasnt put up outstanding numbers is because he hasnt had elite linemates. He may not be a #1 center but hes better then bozak. Put him with kessel and JVR/Lupul and he will outproduce what bozak has done between those 2 by a fair margin

If Bozak gets 5m then Filppula at 5m is a steal

I really like his game and don't think 5 is that insane. Realistically should be 4 but hell get what he wants.

I expect Weiss will sign with the Leafs to replace Bozak. It'll be an upgrade for Toronto, as well.

If we can get rid do Grabo I wouldn't mind Bozak for 5. Even though we still have a lot of cap space.

Bozak is a 2nd/3rd line center. 5M?? Crazy. Some team will give it to him

Bozak is not worth more then 3m. The market has made him this valuable. He is still a #3c, his stats are.skewed because of his PP time and line mates

He's worth what the market is willing to pay.....that's the definition of value.

That's the definition of perceived value

Would imagine his actual value to the Leafs being a whole lot less given his production relative to his icetime and quality of linemates.

This speaks to level of stupidity in this league when we have a pretty bad calibre player like Bozak even approaching or thinking of such figures...

If he gets 5M, it's because someone feels he's worth it and thus, he's worth it (even if it's just to one person).

The perceived value will be what everyone else actually thinks he's worth.

Yup - just saying there isn't only one way to define value

he certainly shouldn't get 5M.
but he's certainly not a "pretty bad calibre" player.

Exactly!

The public can argue all they want on what he is and isnt worth. But in the end the only thing that matters is what he actually gets. What he gets is what he's worth!

More than likely to happen.

I think Tallon's ceiling for Weiss is below 5 (if he's even listening, based on that interview he gave out after his season ending surgery was announced, seemed like he has his sights set on July already.. which is a shame really), Leafs probably will offer something close to 6 or even over.

There is no way the Leafs offer Weiss over 6M per.

I don't think bad the best word to describe Bozak.

He's a good player, I don't think anyone is doubting that, he's just not an elite or superstar player. He's a fringe star at best, who can play on a top two who wins draws, is defensively responsible, has a good work ethic, and can contribute offensively.

He is probably more of a 30-40pt 2nd or 3rd liner with a two-game. Comparative to current deals in the league, he's probably a 3.5 - 4 mill type player.

Considering someone is always prepared to overpay pay UFA's, him making a mil over his actual value isn't a reach. I wouldn't do it, but he certainly isn't a bad player.

Bozak played three years on the west coast in junior. Signing with a Seattle based Coyotes franchise would be fitting from a geographic standpoint, and because of the team's offense woes down the middle.

That would be my hope as well. I wouldn't mind keeping Bozak around as well, but only at a reasonable price (ex. $3-3.5 million/year).

Clearly talking about Weiss, but not surprising you didn't take the time to read the post. History shows your ignorance to that aspect of posting

Anyone suggesting he's a $4 million player need to rethink this.

3 million.

I wouldn't be surprised if Weiss and Horton end up being a package deal. To either Buffalo or Toronto.
