Listening to this Canadian-British commentator use terms like "2-nil" is almost physically painful.

I sometimes type out things like that if it's appropriate to the context but I sure as hell wouldn't ever say it.

The neighbours cat is sleeping in our back-room. I should probably check on him as he's been there for a while now.

Along similar lines, if I'm watching soccer, even on an American channel, I like to have a commentator from the UK. American accents and soccer just don't go together.

It would be a different thing if this Premier Sports guy wasn't trying a little too hard to blend in.

I hate flies to the point where I once considered just letting a few frogs out in my house so they could eat them all.

I'm coming up only to hold you under
And coming up only to show you wrong
And to know you is hard; we wonder...
To know you all wrong; we warn.

Ooooooooh Oooooooooh
Ooooooooh Oooooooooh

Really too late to call,
So we wait for; morning to wake you
Is all we got
To know me as hardly golden
Is to know me all wrong, they warn.

At every occasion, I'll be ready for the funeral
At every occasion, once more, it's called the funeral
At every occasion, oh, I'm ready for the funeral
At every occasion, oh, one billion day funeral

I'm coming up only to show you down for
And coming up only to show you wrong.

To the outside: the dead leaves lay on the lawn
For they don't have trees to hang their own.

Ooooooooh Oooooooooh
Ooooooooh Oooooooooh

At every occasion
I'll be ready for the funeral
At every occasion once more
It's called the funeral
At every occasion
Oh, I'm ready for the funeral
Every occasion
Of one billion day funeral

I think he's a Canadian who lives in the UK, maybe that's why he's so awkward

I remember when I did a goalie camp one of the coaches was a goalie from Wales who had spent some time playing in the US, and his accent would change depending on what he said, it was hilarious

Since 2001, Virginia Tech has put more players into the NFL than UVa had fans at their spring game.

Exact same things happen to me, I still pronounce "raspberry" like a Kiwi even though I don't live there anymore, amongst a few other words even.

I still like to say things like "rubbish" because it's fun and kind of awkward, but with that example I'm doing it on purpose.
