Reimer v. Schneider

If you had a choice between the two to start for your team, who'd you choose?

Another leaf thread started by a non-leaf fan (which far outnumber the ones actually created by leaf fans). Queue the complaints against leaf fans.

Not my intention, but a foreseen result anyways.

It's more of an argument from another thread that has these two pitted against each other.

And this one is an easier argument then against Cam Ward-- their numbers aren't too far off and their should arguments for strength of team/system, etc.

That's incorrect.

It's hard to know how good a goalie actually is until he plays in a good defensive system. Reimer is proving his 2011 season was no fluke backing it up with another solid year. CS has been a more proven goalie as he's done it longer. Both solid goalies - Schneider will take this one though.

Aside from GAA, it's within the range of each other. Not that I think Reimer is better though, because I don't.

Why are we pushing GAA aside? Not to mention 5 shutouts in 27 games is significantly better than 3 shutouts in 28 games. About 60% better.

all im going to say in this thread is Reimer has looked great for the Leafs this year. He has stepped up and deserves to be starting your guys first playoff game in far too long.

Well, I guess we'll have to wait to find out how good Schneider is.

Schneider hands down! He would have had his 6th shutout tonight but Barker trips up and they tied the game and we lose in the SO. The Blues definitely deserved the win though.

Schneider's been on a better team, so it's probably closer than Vancouver fans would want to concede, but I still take Schneider without hesitation.

Reimer is a good goalie, who can be a great goalie in time.

Schneider is a great goalie, who imo will start for USA in the Olympics in 5 years. His talent right now is ridiculous, scary to think how good he will be in his prime.

SChneider and it's not really close.. Reimer has been good this year despite some shaky rebound control in the games I've seen.

Reimers been great but Schneider is a top 5 goalie. Reimer is in the 6-10 range.

Reimers glove is more scary than his rebound control. Teams constantly try and expose it and if he doesn't improve his glove, he'll never be an elite goalie.

After what I just witnessed. When you take age, contract, and ability into it I honestly don;t know if there's a goalie I'd take ahead of Schneider.

Lots of perimeter shots tonight, he looked great but you should have seen him last week against Calgary. Saving our butts all season.

What Reimer has done this season has certainly risen his stock, quite impressive. That being said, there aren't many goalies I'd take ahead of Schneider.
