I think Bryzgalov wants a low media place to sign with so it would be a distinct possibility but we'd have to go through a whole new system change and that'll be a bit of a problem.

Prior to this season most on here weren't sold on Nemo, had issues, won his Cup on the stacked Hawks, blah blah blah. So this year he improves alot, nominated for the Venzina and carries the Sharks..Now all of a sudden he can't be traded because he is too valuable and on a great contract..The waffeling on here is monumentous..If the Sharks really want to improve their roster, moving Nemo is the way..Stalock and a vet back-up can get us to the PO's. Our defensive style would allow it..
Scoff all you want, Patty,Juicy and JT aren't going anywhere, therefore Nemo becomes our trade chip..When exactly are we going to ever see one of our Goalies play? How will we ever know if any of our prospects will be good? We wont..
Moving Nemo with Demers and a pick could get us a nice return or possibly move up in this draft. for example, NYI needs G and a young TWD..They have assets we need,we have something they need. NJ has 2 aging keepers and needs help across the board.Something to move into that 9th spot? Trading Nemo isn't the end of the world and in the big picture improves this club for years to come.

initiate onslaught

ps- I love Nemo but strike while the iron is hot.

"The Calgary Flames have traded forward Alex Tanguay and defenceman Cory Sarich to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward David Jones and defenceman Shane O'Brien."

NHL Live commented that Tanguay would be a good mentor to McKinnon if that's the way the Avs want to go.

This past fall, when Drouin was thought of as a late-first guy, he was often compared to Tanguay. Obviously he's most likely going to be better than Tanguay, but he'd make a very decent linemate for him.

The point was that giving a guy who has 2 half games of experience the starting spot is still not a good idea and at the time that you made your argument, there were no signs of starting level goaltenders out there that could possible right the ship if Stalock failed. However, things have changed and new information has emerged and thus your idea is now a decent plausibility. Then the thing about our defensive system, I don't agree outright. The year that Niemi came to us, the team had to take time adjusting to a system that would cover Niemi's faults and that took maybe half the season before it was acceptable and it'll likely be the same with the acquisition of any new goaltenders. Besides, Stalock is getting his chance soon.

I am guessing it was an 8 year deal, so i don't know if he kept up with the past 4 months before the season started. But the entire nhl landscape has been changed, and there is no way he is worth more then 7 miilion in this new landscape.

7 million would put him into the top 16 in the entire nhl.

He wants Shea Weber money but he needs Weber size. Letang will never dominate games like Weber does. He's a Dan Boyle comparable and should be making Boyle money at best.

Maybe it's possible Letang does not enjoy Pittsburgh?

I honestly don't think he would be nearly as productive here. -Crosby, Malkin, Neal +Robinson? Yikes.

He's not a great PPQB which makes me wonder if he'd be a bad fit here because he wouldn't be nearly as productive on ES.

You get to play with Crosby and Malkin and you demand more? Wow. Don't want this guy anywhere near the Sharks

It's not a million dollars per year difference. If it was, it would be 8 mil and that's nothing to scoff at losing. Pens offered 8 years/56 million and their counter was something south of 8 million so it's less than a mil per year. I doubt it's really the money that is holding it up. Letang wants security and Shero doesn't seem willing to give him movement clauses to the degree that Letang is looking for. That's probably why the money side of it went closer to 8 million on the counter offer.
