I was actually gonna suggest the same thing, people on these boards should meet up at champions (marriott) at like 530ish

Friend texted me at around 3PM today to inform me that he just read individual game tickets had been on sale since noon. While we bought tickets for games one and two on StubHub, I'm with the people on here that are expressing their disappointment in the way the Islanders handled the sale. Next time, maybe a bit of advance notice before playoff tickets go on sale?

I'm stuck in a really crappy spot....I bought 2 tickets for home game 1 and I mistakingly needed 3 tickets........What can I do.....does anyone have 3 together and I can swap with you my 2....and obviously you would get the difference in money for that extra seat....OR...does anyone have an EXTRA seat in section 311 that they are able to give up and ill pay whatever I need to

To the people who don't know if they can make it, why don't you buy and then sell them if you can't go? I have no idea if I can make the game, and I'd imagine that I live further than almost everybody.

As for the NHL releasing the playoff schedule, it isn't that easy. They need to know who is playing who and as what seed before they release it. Travel, time zones, etc. all come into play. As well as other sports and events that they can't interfere with. Some of these teams SHARE arenas with teams already in playoff series.

Yeah even though I was lucky enough to get seats to all the games, the only reason I knew was cuz of the thread on this forum. Luckily I didn't have class until 330 today and was able to go online when tickets were released, but the fact that I called the isles ticket reps at 10 AM this morning and they literally told me nothing about what time they would be released or anything, just told me yeah ticketmaster will sell them or you can come here and give us a $500 for next season....no I don't want season tickets for next season I just want playoff tickets. It's a little annoying that I had to find out how/when I could get tickets through hfboards as opposed to the damn ticket reps. And I'm sure the people who didn't find out tip hours after they went on sale are even more frustrated since they had no way of knowing

It would have been nice if they gave a little more advance notice and did not put them on sale at noon on a work day.
It is done so brokers don't get the jump, more tix will be released, season ticket office going nuts today and they have. Lot on hold for new subscribers. Therefore when he platinum deal is over more tix will be released.
The devils last year were offering newbubscribers playoff strip all the way up to the finals. Therefore the day of every game they had extra to release from the hold pool. Just b patient and you will get

For the tickets being released on Friday, you just have to go to the box office at the Coliseum and wait on line?

just get a pair of tickets now for cheapest possible....its not like the tickets will be unmarketable....

worst case scenario, sell it to someone, and make best friends with everyone in high fives distance (I'm sure it won't be difficult in a PO atmosphere )

You would think since it is confirmed that the regular season will be ending on Saturday and playoffs will begin on Tuesday, that the NHL would have some type of schedule put together to let fans know what day the games are going to be played, even if they don't know the specific time. Although the team seeds aren't determined yet, they can easily make the schedules be something like:
#8 seed vs. #1 seed Game 1 Tuesday, April 30th
#8 seed vs. #1 seed Game 2 Friday, May 3rd

etc...
agree it would be nice to know but the reality is that they need to check for availability for arenas as well(not to mention tv impacts on times and dates for best ratings possibilities).. places like Boston/Chicago/LA and MSG have NBA playoffs not to mention other events already scheduled at various arenas so they just can't plug in seeds until they know how it shakes out. scheduling is not so simple..the problem with playoffs in most sports is they don't cater to the fan who goes to the games but rather to the viewing fan for best ratings and available stadium/arena.. you need to be flexible unfortunately

More tickets were just released (in 329 and 330), but they're disappearing just as fast....got kicked off ticketmaster during checkout....

Edit: Now 332.

ADMIN NOTE: Same ticket sales rules apply here as in our regular resale thread. You can only sell for face value plus a small fee for shipping and such. HF is NOT a ticket reseller and its buyer beware.

Just picked up a pair on Ticketmaster in 334 for Game 1 at the Coliseum. Anybody who was shut out, keep checking....if the Interactive Seat Guide is down, keep refreshing the page, when it comes back up again there will be pairs available, you just have to act fast.
