Now, or in the future?

Guess it doesn't really matter, I'd take Seguin either way.

In any case it's Yakupov. The guy honestly plays like a grittier version of Kovalchuk.O.o
He is not grittier than Kovi. Kovi has no problem dropping the gloves and at 230+ he is much better in the corners/winning puck battles.

Size has nothing to do with how gritty you are... and being a fighter doesn't make you more gritty either.

Tell me what makes a player gritty. If toughness and willing to go into the dirty areas (and be successful) isn't it, I guess I need to be educated.

Throwing the weight around, going into corners, after whistle scrums. I don't think he's a grittier Kovulchuk for the record, but he's gritty as hell for sure. I'm a Yakupov homer so ill take him, but Seguin is one of my favorite players in the league. Anyone who says hes not explosive hasn't watched him enough.

They are pretty even. I'm just relieved the Oilers didn't draft Seguin.

Basically this, Nail has been playing very physically for the past 10-15 games and has even been dishing out big hits on opposing teams' stars.

Yeah going into the corner and laying guys out, exactly what you didn't say. Gritty players that come to mind are B Schenn, Kadri and Oshie. Guys that don't necessarily drop the gloves and aren't big.
