From the new beat guy in town.

Iowa Wild feels..... weird.

Hmm. It's nice to see that they're changing the name to match the big team, but it's still weird.

Also should say that I feel for those of you who are in Houston who follow and are a fan of the Aeros. Know what it's like to lose a team, obviously, and we did appreciate your first hand accounts!

Man, I really feel bad for our Houston fans that hang out here. I hope they get another form of hockey to support down there. You guys deserve it.

x2

I wonder if any will become fans of the next closest AHL team, the San Antonio Rampage?

cornhuskers fan? **** that. pass.
\

edit: ummm... yeah, that sucks. Kept hearing second hand word of mouth how the Aeros thought they were being treated like second hand citizens down there by the building owner so not really surprised.

As long as they don't go anywhere near the Barons I'm good.

Seriously though, just can't believe that they're moving. Kind of some dark irony in it.

I wonder if we'll see more Aer....er, Iowa Wild games at the X in the future now that they will only a short 4 hour bus ride away?

I did not. I was a fan without a team. Fortunately, getting married and having kids during that time between when the North Stars left and the Wild arrived kept me busy enough to keep my mind off losing the North Stars.

I did watch a few Moose games at the old St Paul Civic Center, however.

This really sucks for the Houston Fans, especially around here.
Doesn't make much of a difference to me.

Not a huge fan of the name.

Hopefully they left the rights to any future Houston franchise to be able to use the name and logo.

Not that it matters but here's the last Iowa game stats sheet.

EDIT: Some familiar names...

Some of us will become fans of other teams. I know SA (Texas as well) are rivals. So yeah.

It's all business, which unfortunately is controlled by agendas and not the fans, 13,000 of which showed up to the last regular season home game. That's 2,000 less than what the MTS Centre in Winnipeg even holds.

I for one am more disappointed than I am pissed, but I'm still pretty pissed off.

And no, I don't think there's a single Aeros fan that will start supporting SA, Texas or OKC (considering the rivalry and the fact that they all get to keep their teams).

And also, never changing my avatar now, in remembrance.

Was that ice really yellow? Or is the lighting? Cheap camera?

Ice definitely was yellow.

That was the Livestrong night for their last game ever. They had a special jersey as well.

The only good thing is that the farm team will be somewhere I can drive to now. But I'll miss the Aeros and feel bad for the Houston fans. So glad I saw a game down there.
