no one said hall = karlsson.

people are saying that karlsson would be the guy worth moving hall in a deal for... and I agree. Yakupov, MPS and Eberle would be more attainable then Hall and RNH

IMO silfverberg will be good alongside a playmaking center like rnh and a guy like hall who gets a lot of attention but im not sure he is a 1st line winger. your right though silfverberg is small and he is also an average skater but he is good at protecting the puck duing a cycle, good defensively and good pk, colin greening is a big guy, who can throw hits and is fast while having good hands around the net, smith is a guy the oilers need, a 3rd/4th line center with grit and can protect the young guys(Also 24 yrs old only). With that said I dont think oiler fans will take this offer. Oilers probably would want cowen but the sens arent really that deep in defense

Silfverberg isn't a small winger, 6'1 200 lbs. He's not a hitter but hes amazing on the boards and doesn't shy away from hits.

Would you like me to go on? and thats not including defensemen and goalies

If Taylor Hall is the valuable then we wont be trading for him.

Propose a trade for either Yakupov or Eberle? Preferable Eberle
From a team perspective i don't think anyone would trade Hall for Datsyuk or the Sedins because each of them are over 10 years older than him. But i could easily name 10 guys i would want over him.

Well since Hall is off the table, how about Eberle for Cowan and Conacher?

Hall isn't going anywhere period end of story. He is one of the three ( Nuge , Eberle) that actually shows some fire in the belly. He isn't the smartest peanut but has amazing talent. His stats during the short season have been pretty impressive.

The only way Taylor Hall will ever be traded is if he demands it, I would however be interested in Zibanejad and Lehner though in a Gagner or Eberle reated trade.

Meh. Cowen is way too high of a price to upgrade from Conacher to Eberle.

Lehner is straight up untouchable. Id rather keep Zibanejad than trade him for Gagner.

Out of the big 5 (J Schultz, Yakupov, Eberle, RNH and Hall) Taylor Hall IMO is the most untouchable with RNH second. He is the heartbeat of this team, face of the franchise and most likely future captain.

I could see Ottawa offereing a top 6 forward, a young defensemen and some draft picks, something among the lines of:

Taylor Hall for Cory Conacher, Patrick Weircoich or Eric Gryba, 2013 1st round pick, 2014 2nd round pick

Conacher could help replace some of the offense lost, weircoich and gryba are both future top 4 defense, most likely by next season, and draft picks which the oilers could then trade for other players.

Other available players:
Milan Michalek, Zach Smith, Eric Condra, Colin Greening, Mark Stone,
What ****ing joke . We can take some of your young stars for a package similar to what you are offering us

He never said it was fair , but Hall is our best player and it would take that kind of over payment . I am sure there are players on your team that you would want a massive over payment for . Hall is the heart of the Oilers

Karlsson+Cowen might get EDM talking, other than that Hall is staying.

Explains why EDM can't improve through trades and overpays for player retention.

...vast overrating of their own assets' worth.

Good that OTT fans do not do that, as they would not trade Karlsson for Eberle,Hall,RNH and Yakupov. Pfft.

I really don't want to add anything to this thread because it was doomed from the beginning, but Whitney is a UFA and in no way will go back to the Oilers.

So basically Method + Silfverberg and Smith for Eberle?

C'est what!?!

Marc Methot and Zibanejad don't get you Jordan Eberle, together, let alone solo.

Ottawa and Edmonton would make good trading partners, but the issue is people hate quantity for quality deals, which is what this would have to be as it fills the needs for both teams.

Ottawa could use a top end winger (Yak/Eberle/Hall). Ottawa could dangle a center (Zibanejad) big responsible forwards (Greening/Smith) a solid prosepct winger to replace the loss (Silfverberg) or defensemen (Cowen, Gryba, Wiercioch) or solid prospects (Boroweicki, Noesen).

Asking for Lehner and Karlsson is a non starter as it does not make sense for Ottawa.

Edmonton does not really want more draft picks and neither does Ottawa, so those are filler pieces, not central pieces.

-----
Yakupov for Cowen and Silfverberg is a potential.

Of course. Because Edmonton assumes all the risk.

Even if Zibanejad and Cowen develop to their expected ceilings, Hall is better right now then they will be, even assuming he does not develop further.

It would take Zibanejad + Cowen + Lehner to even get talks started.

Assuming Ottawa considers Karlsson, Lehner, and Spezza as untouchables.

Then Id say Zibanajed + Cowen, maybe adding something else. Hall at this point is by far the best player of the three.
