This team is pathetic.
To be fair, they were probably worried about being shorthanded 5-on-3 for the rest of the game if they reacted.

Period.

Probably the most annoying fans are the ones who try and be overly objective in an attempt to not look like a homer. Truth.
Bad luck, Miller, refs all played a big part. Bruins played well, but you can't ignore the elephant in the room: the lackluster play from Lucic and Horton who are supposed to be top line players

If we had a little better luck maybe this game goes our way, but we shouldn't really need luck every game

[QUOTE=Andrew83;64155767]The Sabres always do really well against us. The chances of us facing them in the playoffs is tiny so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. This game has zero bearing on the playoffs. Go back and look at all the sloppy sloppy losses in 2011.[/QUOT

Sabres had 8 US players tonight including the guy with the so winner and the games #1 star in Miller.

Losing games like this, after you have the lead late in the game I think falls on the coach/coaches. There is a major leak somewhere, and this coach and or coaches have not been able to plug it. Where is the discipline.. Good teams put bad teams away, specially when they have the lead going late.. Honestly I think some of the players and coaches may have gotten a bit too comfortable.

I am massively concerned about Lucic. Horton is cooked and trying to safely survive to one more decent contract. Big life-changing hit . . .I get it. A BIG thank you and goodbye.

Lucic is a massive massive question mark going forward with that Cap hit 9or any cap hit for that matter). It, at times, looked like pouting tonight and of all nights, pouting? . . .well sorta kinda unacceptable.

Frankly, I'd sit Lucic Friday and insert some new guy.

That was disappointing. There was a lot going on, but that was disappointing.

They simply have to be better in certain areas, and the one consistent area of dominance all season, the PK, is in a downward spiral.

And I have patience, but I have officially lost it with the lack of physicality and response. LOST IT. It is unacceptable right now, and I can't figure out where it went or why, but I do know this team will not go very far without it.

Uhhh they don't. They've won 26 of 42 of 'em, good for top the division and second in the conference.

Lucic And Horton have been absolute plugs this entire year. Good riddance Horton, Lucic is not getting a raise.

They seem to be trending downwards. That's what's troubling to me.

Chara, Thornton, Lucic, Campbell, Ference, and Boychuk sat and watched while Jaromir Jagr had to go after Kaleta himself.

Lucic deserves to be a healthy scratch against Pittsburgh

I thought it was a much better effort tonight. Horton actually looked like he was trying for once. Lucic is still lost but looked decent on his one shift with Bergeron and Seguin (I kinda want to see more of that now). Ryan Miller stole the game and he was in their heads for the shootout.

At least we are in the playoffs. Seeding isn't that important because some of the lower seeds are really hot right now. That being said, Bruins have given no reason to get excited about a long playoff run.

Really? The Horton/Kelly/Paille line looked pretty damn good, accounting for both Bruins goals. The Lucic line looked pretty decent on a couple shifts as well, and considering they had about 10 minutes of ice time a couple of shifts was fairly significant.

Krejci was finally separated from the supposed dead wait of Horton and Lucic and paired with Jagr and was pretty much invisible the entire game.

I'm not going to be too critical considering the conditions under which the game was played. And because I think it was on of their better showings in the last few weeks.
  • Bergy, Marchand, Segs back together had flashes of that line on one can handle.
  • Chris Kelly seems to have turned the corner.
  • Although Lucic was held shotless he looked a tad better.
  • Nate looked a bit better too.
  • More emotion, I think the whole Scott/Shawn thing is wearing off.
  • Jagr looks uncontainable against anyone not prepared to deal with him. Makes you appreciate what Hal Gil did when Jagr was in his prime.

Miller comes up a bit bigger than Dobby. Tough call on Ference it's not as if he was even shooting it, just batting it. Goes to a shootout and you have give the Sabres the nod with the hands on that team. It happens, just not great timing considering the previous events of the week.

I felt better about this loss more than most of our wins in the last few weeks.
