He has shown himself to much more tilted to the business side than the playing/competitive side, no doubt about that. Kind of a Roger Dorn type it seems.

Sox have allowed the 2nd fewest runs in the AL so far.

If they just had any kind of offense

LOL at SAS and Skip Bayless talking about golf. Stick to arguing over Tebow and LeBron

Appel is in the top 20 in K/BB, Gray is #2 in WHIP.

I'd be so happy if we got Carlos Rodon.

Unless a baseball draft lottery appears in the next 12 months, we aren't getting Rodon

The post trade deadline Cubs have the potential to be truly terrible.

Trade everybody, guys like Rodon don't come along very often. See if Micah Bowie wants to make a comeback as a starter, look into picking up Phil Humber, whatever it takes.

Possibly but thats only 2 months, Miami and Houston are going to be awful all summer. I think they could dump Feldman and Garza at the deadline and possibly Schierholtz, Barney, Dejesus, and Soriano. Even if they trade all of those guys, they are better than some teams.

They're also in a better division for being terrible. They don't have another terrible team to beat up on like the Mariners or Mets. Yea, the Brewers aren't great, but they're a competent team. I could see them being marginally better than the Astros and Marlins, who are getting better, and then falling off the table at the TDL.

Like I said, assemble a pitching staff with an average 9.00+ ERA, just a bunch of guys who have no business even being in AAA, let alone MLB. Shut Shark down early again. Seems like a pretty simple and effective formula for a .200 or worse winning percentage the last two months. Turn this thing into a ****ing sideshow, midgets, bearded lady, the whole thing.

Not exactly Chicago-area sports news, but for fans of the Peoria Rivermen, it looks like they're not missing a season after all.... granted, they're joining the uber-low tier SPHL:

http://www.pjstar.com/news/x81143787...team-in-Peoria

For those that don't know the rankings of minor leagues, here ya go....

NHL > AHL (AAA) > ECHL (AA) > CHL (sorta AA) > SPHL (A) > FHL (below A)

In other words, big drop in quality of play, but something's better than nothing for Peoria fans.

You guys are hilarious.

Rose has just decided to never play again, he won't be ready next year, he won't be ready ever again. Plus lets question his toughness and heart. The guy plays all out all the time and goes to the lane as one of the smaller guys in the NBA and gets crushed all the time and never complained or cried about it, but lets question this.

Put what should I expect from the same board that wanted Kane traded, Sharp benched, Hossa bought out, Bolland cut etc. etc. The minute you haven't done for me I am done with you no matter what you have done more me in the past, F YOU!

He's going to have the same issues he has right now. It's going to be up to him whether or not he changes his mind or not. I'm not a doctor, but this is the situation exactly as I understand it from the medical opinions I have heard.

There is a huge difference playing in pre-season games and playing in the NBA Conference Semi-Finals against the NBA Champs.

Maybe the reason he isn't coming back is because he knows his game isn't there and he doesn't want to hurt his team, I don't agree with that but maybe he thinks that way.

However seeing what I have seen and knowing what I know of Rose I don't question him and certainly wouldn't start calling him Dwight Howard like or comparing him to Roger Dorn.

Joakim Noah came out strongly in his defense and we know Noah doesn't pull punches when speaking, that tells me all I need to know. His teammates have his back the fans should too. But it's seems too many of Chicago fans are too quick to turn on people.

I'm not sure if I should be critical since there is something that only management and Derrick know that would explain settle all the debate.

The Cubs are building a strong foothold in Latin America and with the second most amount of money to spend they should land a potential impact prospect or two. According to Ben Badler of Baseball America, they have their eyes set on two of the top 10 international free agents this year.

The first is SS Gleyber Torres, whom we discussed back in March. The scouts who like Torres, and we obviously have to assume the Cubs scouts are among them, feel he can stick at SS. Torres is 5'11", 185 lbs. and doesn't have the frame to get much larger. This is not a guy who is about pure projection, Torres already has advanced baseball skills for his age. He has a strong arm and is good hitter with some power potential. The Cubs are said to be the frontrunners.

The second player is Eloy Jimenez who is a 6'4" 200 lbs. outfield prospect with big power potential. He's more projectabl3 than Torres but has shown less in games to this point. His swing is more conducive to groundballs than deep flys right now. He's an above average runner who projects more to a corner spot. Badler says he may get the highest bonus in this year's class -- in the $2.6-$2.8M range -- and that the Cubs are the heavy favorites to sign him.

He didn't have to wait until now to start playing. He could have played a couple months ago, when he was still feeling like he is now, and the medical professionals said he needs to play to finish his recovery.

I've noticed that since Rizzo turned it around, his hands have been a tad higher, his load has been higher, and he's had much more movement in his pre-delivery set up.
