I said all year if Spurs don't qualify for the CL they will see a max exidus from the club starting with Bale who this year was the club. He will almost certainly go somewhere where he can play CL football, and I bet other players would leave too. Liverpool are likely to feel something similar with Suarez, fact is top talent wants to play in the CL and if you don't qualify they won't play. Wenger said it best, finishing in the top 4 is oftentimes better then winning a trophy.

What team is better off this offseason for adding players.

Arsenal, Swansea, Wingan. 2 of those team won trophies 1 didn't.

His point does make sense, for a lot of these guys its about playing in Europe and only a few teams can play there, often times it's best to play in the CL then win a domestic trophy that doesn't guarantee team CL play.

Yeah, any manager is going to take a top 4 finish over winning the FA Cup or Mickey Mouse Cup. It's not even a question. The ramifications of getting their or not mean everything. There's no way in hell they'll be able to sign Jovetic without getting in (not that I believe that will happen anyways, been teased too many times with crap like this).

Arsenal have been extremely patient with the no trophy thing for Wenger. Look ow that played out for Mancini. Arsenal has much more modest goals....which are all financial.

Right. The point is to win trophies, not make the UCL so you can sell all of your best players.

To win you need players, to get players you need to be able to offer things others can't, the CL is a big offer in that case. Top players almost never sign for clubs that can't offer that and leave teams that don't. Bale is all but gone to another team if Spurs don't finish in the top 4, without him and more leaving what can they hope to win?

Arsenal doesn't make a lot of big signings. They do however sell all of their players that could put them over the top. Hell they sold Van Persie IN LEAGUE! If they miss out on the UCL this year it'll be because they drew and lost to ManU and Van Persie scored in both of those games.

Spurs have money, they'll survive. Everyone expected their mediocrity after losing Modric.

Because people didn't expect Bale to become one of the best players in the world.

Carzola, Podolski, Giroud, all signed last year had majors roles in this team being where they are at. They don't go crazy like Man City, Chelsea and PSG have recently but they do sign some very good players, players they would never get not being in the top 4.

Remember this Arsenal team is the team that actually beat Bayern in Munich earlier this year, and only lost by away goals, the same Bayern team that just slaughtered Barca 7-0 and beat Juve 4-0. They are a very good team despite selling all those players because Wenger and the staff have a good system in place, if Wenger ever got the backing some of the other managers got he would have a lot more trophies in his cabinet, he is now with SAF retiring the best PL manager by far.

Right, and they are like the Anaheim Ducks, look at their goals scored and goals conceded....they shouldn't be this close to the top 4. Sometimes teams just get lucky in a season.

Right, that was complete fool's luck.

EDIT: you guys are too fast, that was at Sir's Bale comment.

Meanwhile, the Sox have the 2 lowest WAR players in the league and 3 in the top 7.

Go get that top 5 pick so they can **** that up too!

Jovetic rumored too.

None of it means a thing if Sunday goes the wrong way, though.

Giroud came from freaking Montpeiler for $13 mil and Podolski from a team that was relegated for $11 mil. Its not like they were signing Kun Aguero or David Silva. They could have got both of those players had they been a mid-table or Europa league team. Like most of Wenger's purchases, they were very savvy buys by a guy that can identify talent.

Rooney even rumored, all comes down to CL qualifying and why its so important.

Any of those guys will greatly help Arsenal, although I believe they need another top defender to be considered a contender for the league again.

Bulls played their hearts out and that's all you can ask for, proud of the guys for making the Heat work for it. If the Bulls can keep this team together and don't have the same injury issues next year I could honestly see a different outcome.
