Nothing said about the game at all....yet. Molinari tweeted that 'for the time being' the Pens have been told they cannot leave their hotel.

Just cancel it and give each team a point. Or give both to Boston, who cares?

I was thinking of that... if it's 2 games, can they split? How would hte league respond. Look how close that race is between Boston/Montreal.

Do you think they will replay the Ottawa/Boston and Pitt/Boston game the week where playoffs are supposed to be?

At least that would ensure that no one would get injured again.

To preface this post... please note i'm just making a hockey reference. Don't take this out of context.

The Pens have been a bit lucky w/ their final stretch. They have had a lot of days off and are beating teams w/ half their line up. They could have an additional game off which protects them from a back to back (albeit TERRIBLE circumstances).

We might be one of the few teams really well rested leading into the postseason.

It will be interesting to see how the league handles the situation if 2 games are canceled. It's not like the bruins are are the panthers and have nothing to gain. Montreal and Boston are in a tight race for the division. You'd think that the bruins will have to play these games at some point to determine the winner of the northeast division.

Morning skates for the host Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins have been called down. No surprise there.

No surprise indeed.

yes, honestly to be safe, you cancel this game. Let the bruins decide when to make it up, if at all. If they rush to get the game on, and there is another member or two of this thing, that hockey game is a prime national target. no harm in palying it safe here. yes seeding may be in jeapordy, but both of these teams are already in the playoffs... not really much to play for really. It would be dumb to do this at this point.

It would have to be rescheduled. Teams need to play the same number of games.

The only available days for that is Wednesday and Friday of next week and if that is to happen it would mean the Bruins would play in 3 consecutive days. Doubt the NHL let's that happen

The game will be called due to the massive search and shutdown. It just seems they want to get through the weekend to access things.

I think the NHL will see how the season plays out w/o the 2 games. If Boston is #2 and can't reach #1, don't play them.

Yeah, the problem is division title. If NHL cancelled Boston game and Montreal wins the division title by 1 point, that would be bad.

Remember folks - this isn't the thread for more than just a few updates/light discussion/hockey related discussion. There is a thread going on in the political board for a more in-depth analysis of the situation.

Yeah. True. But they have that "just in case" situation in their back pocket. They can have these games Sunday/Tuesday leading into the postseason. Push the postseason back 2-3 days due to circumstances IF NEED BE.

I think everyone involved could respect that decision based on the events that happened.

If the points in the games matter, they'd be played. If no one can move anywhere, it wouldn't be a shock for them not to be played. I know MLB does this, not sure if it's ever happened in the NHL or not though.
